BREAKING NEWS: KANYE WEST ARRESTED! UPDATE: KANYE RESPONDS

http://drfunkenberry.wordpress.com/

Crazy ish! Kayne West got arrested this morning at LAX.

Kanye was arrested a little over an hour ago when we are told a photogragher was trying to take pictures of him at LAX airport and Kanye went after him and smashed the paps camera.

Tmz will have video footage shortly as they were taping the entire scene and then Kanye’s assistant went after tmz’s cameras! The video camera was broken but TMZ has the video.

Kanye was arrested shortly after.

www.tmz.com will be posting the video shortly.-Dr.FB

UPDATE
Here is Kanye's reponse to the incident taken from Dr Funkenberry this morning:

Posted on Kanye’s Blog today: We back in the lab!!! I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool. I gotta work now… I’ll rant later!

Good for Kanye. These stars that are rich enough to be followed around by TMZ shouldn't worry about a little old ticket for bustin' up one of their cameras. If I were that rich, I'd totally budget myself a yearly paparazzi freakout.

Because sometimes you just don't feel like dealing with all of that bullshit. These bastards ANTAGONIZE stars to try to get fucked up pictures because that's what the idiots that buy their mags wanna see so they can sit on their fat asses and "feel a little better about themselves" by seeing a celeb "brought down a peg" in a picture.
After every day of that shit, eventually, a person is bound to snap.

Hip-hop star Kanye West was arrested on charges of felony vandalism after an altercation with a photographer Thursday morning at Los Angeles International Airport, airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles confirmed to FOX News.

West and his bodyguard, who was also arrested by airport police on charges of felony vandalism and battery shortly before 8 a.m., had an altercation with the paparazzi involving a $10,000 camera, the spokeswoman said.

The incident took place in Terminal 4, outside of passenger security screening.

West and his bodyguard were in custody with airport police and expected to be transported to the LAPD's Pacific Division to be booked. Airport spokesman Marshall Lowe said police were continuing to interview witnesses.

An employee at the office of West's representative at the William Morris Agency had no comment.

A still photographer was trying to take pictures of West at the American Airlines terminal when West allegedly confronted the man and smashed his camera to the ground.

A TMZ photographer then began videotaping the scene when West's assistant grabbed the man's camera. A struggle ensued and the assistant threw the video camera to the ground, breaking it, TMZ says. When West realized the photographer had videotaped the incident, he yelled,
"Gimme that f---ing tape!"

Why would he act like that at an airport.

IF you're in public you can be photographed and videotaped. That's just how it is. You may not like it...but you can't destroy people's property and attack them -- and in a high security/high-risk place like an airport? Stupid as hell.

Oh yes? Just because he is a celeb he should allow these fuckers to shove a camera in his face whenever he sets foot out of his door?? These assholes know no boundaries and are harrassing celebrities... it would be a different story if they would keep the distance and use tele objectives... but that's not what they do! So I applaud every celeb who smashes up one of their cameras! I don't really understand why there isn't a law against being harrassed with cameras!

As for what I just saw in the video, as much as he may not want anyone taking pictures of him, he's in a public place and for him to act like that was wrong. If that were you or I, we would be arrested too. Kanye's not above the law just because he's a celeb. Besides, if he doesn't want to be photographed at an airport, then he can get himself a private jet and be wisked away from the limo to the plane without any paparazzi snapping at him. It's the price you pay for being a celebrity today. Right or wrong, it's reality.

And it's 9/11 today. This is the WRONG place to act like a fool with all that's happened in the last 7 years. Kanye should know better than this.

I'm guessing that people who are siding with the paparrazi on this have:
a. never actually seen them follow a celeb around live and up close
b. are paparazzi themselves or aspiring to be
or
c. simply don't like Kanye and are glad to see him get a little grief in his life (as if losing his mom not too long ago wasn't enough)

Either way, you're outta your minds if you think its as simple and innocent as them just walking around taking pictures. There's almost always antagonization involved. That "they are celebs and its part of the job" shit is something the press made up and repeats it so that the idiotic general public will regurgitate it and absolve them of any wrongdoings when they stalk these people. His job is to produce and perform music. That's it. Posing for pictures is a courtesy, not a requirement. They don't want the posed for pics anyway, they want the unflattering ones.

You sound like someone who's been where Kanye's been and I see where you are coming from with what you are saying. I don't think that Kanye should be stalked cause the paparazzi are bad, real bad, but the problem is that they aren't going away. Kanye and his assistant shouldn't have done what they did to get them to stop. And the thing is, they won't stop even with this incident. It might cause them to follow Kanye around even more than they did before. Who knows. All I know is that it's very a bad situation all the way around.

nod I think it's absolutely disgusting what the hard core paparazzi is capable of. People have already died trying to escape from them. They shouldn't be allowed to stalk celebrities like they do. Lock them up and throw away the key neutral

I know I wouldn't buy any pics of his raggedy ass. Someone said it earlier that it's a priviledge to get photos of any celebrity but these paps are like vultures, they aren't going anywhere. I don't know, I don't know who wins in this situation. It's just a mess all the way around. There should be some kind of law that limits what the Paparazzi can do and can't do when it comes to snapping a pic of someone walking down Rodeo Dr or 5th Avenue.

But where that one photographer won't take a pic of Kanye, someone else will. The cycle continues. I don't agree with it but it is what it is.

Ask our dearly departed Duchess of Wales how much of a menace these guys can be.

I think this was a perfect storm of massively undersupervised photogs and a massively oversized ego. He should have reacted better. But who knows how many times that had happened to him that day? Everyone has a breaking point.

California is considering licensure requirements for the paparazzi and I'm fine with that. And the entertainment biz is going to have to stop enabling the papps. But that's for another thread.

that's what pisses me off, because we know some of them intend to push celebrities buttons thinking they won't be able to react back because they're too keen on their public image.

it just sucks how they keep getting away with things like that.

but if that guy was honestly just doing his job peacefully, then kanye deserves what he's got.
