This album was one of the essential albums of 1988. It was so instrumental in changing the scope of r&b music.
You should pick up the reissue with the 12" mixes. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Was "Piece Of My Love" a single? No, just an album track that radio loved playing. The official singles: 1. Groove Me 2. 'Round and 'Round (Merry Go 'Round of Love) 3. Teddy's Jam 4. I Like - My Fantasy (from "Do the Right Thing") 5. Spend the Night Of course, "Don't Clap... Just Dance" also had a 12" single. The aforementioned "Piece of My Love" was a radio staple, as were "Goodbye Love" and (to a lesser extent) "You Can Call Me Crazy." Guy is the best New Jack Swing album ever and one of my favorites of all time. The Special Edition was my favorite release of the year bar none. "Had"? You should get the reissue. It's excellent! It has the 6 12" mixes on a second disc. Worth it for the "Spend the Night" remix alone! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Easily one of the top 10 (Probably top 5) greatest and influential R&B albums in the last 25 years. I bet Timmy is STILL kicking himself in the head for leaving before they "blowuptuated" . nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

So, was the debate ever settled over whether or not Aaron Hall said "dumb b@tch" at the beginning of POML?
It does not sound like that's what he is saying.

It does not sound like that's what he is saying. A few years back, I heard Aaron on this show called Radioscope and he said it was just an audio anomaly and he'd never "go there," especially on a commercially-released album. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

The "dumb bitch" rumor is just that. He hardly said that in the song. It sounded mumbled but believe me, I didn't hear "dumb bitch" in it, lol.

It does not sound like that's what he is saying. No he doesn't. He said "oh baby..." LOL It always sounded like "baby, baby" to me. Either way, it most certainly does not sound like he is saying "dumb b@tch".
