As much as i love SANANDA/TTD'S VOICE..... its hard for me to appreciate alot of his live material cuz he tends to go into this....gargaling vocal hissy fit where he screams and garbles his words together....sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.... it seems he tends to over sing.
my favorite thing about a singer is when they understate their vocal powers until the right time... What ya'll think.

\I think you're confusing Sananda with a conventional singer. If there's one thing he's done over the years, its show that he won't "follow the format". He's subject to let out a James Brown scream in the middle of a ballad. You never know. Its part of what I like about him. He's unpredictable. The smooth, build em up then let em have it vocals are more suited to Luther Vandross (whom I loved...MUSICALLY) and the like. Nothing wrong with that but its just not what Sananda does.

His entire stage persona is unpredictable. Sometimes it works well, but usually you can't make sense of what he's doing, or at least I can't. Now that quality seems to have spilled over to his studio work as well.
