I personally think Usher should have been chosen to sing Marvin Gaye instead of Timberlake. Usher would have impersonated him quite well I think (dance moves and all), unlike Timberlake.

Rihanna's performance would have been better if it was janet performing. Rih never adds anything to what she is given. I mean couldn't she add her own dance moves. This girl really cannot dance. I did enjoy her lip sync vocals on the vogue song. That would have been the best performance of the night if this girl could perform and work the stage.

Beyonce's tribute was boring, and its so cliche because she always makes tributes. and her duet with justin was boring, their voices didn't mess well together and that gold outfit was just weird.

solange i was very surprised by, it was actually a cute performance. I was well impressed with her.

Kid rock and mary was interesting and entertaining.

Mariah's performance was boring, she stood there like a log, and looked uncomfortable, her dancers ARE SOOO CHEESY. she would be better off without them.

chris brown, he is just so redundant, nothing he does is innovating. if he's not copying mike, like you said its usher or sisqo. This boy needs to just stop.

The best thing is getting to see this show live and then watch it and see what they cut. I have been working at fashion week here in NYC and a bonus was getting into this show, but that was mainly nicoles doing.

Like i mentioned in the MTV thread this was easily the better show by far, i mean thats not hard to top. But the performances for the most part were all good, but no one had that WOW factor where you were talking about next day, that is what is lacking today.

As for Lypsynching, Chris Brown also was mostly not live, he sang a few notes here and there, Mariah did as she usually does, sings a few bars, and uses pre-recorded music behind her with her own vocals mixed in. But nothing to really complain about and nothing to really HYPE up, although was Chris Cornell doing anything, i heard nothing coming out of his mouth at the show, and now seeing it, he's like a cross between Johnny Depp and the Crow, but his mouth wasnt moving.
