Now I liked Chris Cornell when he was in Soundgarden and some of his solo-stuff and his stuff with Audioslave. I even went to his show when he played in Reykjavík last year and the show was rockin'. BUT next month he will have a new album out featuring collaborations with Timbaland, of which 3 songs can heard (clips) here: http://www.myspace.com/chriscornell

I must say I'm really disappointed in this. If some of you thought Duran Duran was selling out and diluting their sound by hooking up with Timbaland, you should hear the garbage this collab is spawning! After listening to the song "Watch Out" featured on his myspace I wondered: Is this really the same Chris Cornell that did "Jesus Christ Pose" and "Blow up the Outside World"?

To be fair, I like some of Timbaland's stuff. I even liked some of the songs he did with Duran Duran but their "native" sound is totally different from anything Chris Cornell has done musically so the musical leap to go for this kind of sound is much bigger for Chris Cornell. Also I think the stuff Timbaland came up with for Chris is weak, even by Timbaland's standards.

what the hell is happening to chris cornell? i heard some of his recent stuff and had to wonder if he was going for the granny panty demographic at this point in his career. then again, i think neil diamond's new album is even edgier than chris cornell's recent stuff! what happened???

Oh DEAR. First Duran Duran album I didn't buy and now Chris Cornell too. Timbaland is shitting on all my fav acts.
