What Orgers Own Naked?

I think this album is completely underrated, especially since it has such great songs as "Blind", "Nothing But Flowers" and "The Democratic Circus".

Anyone else love this oft-ignored Talking Heads swan song?

i'm very ashamed to say that i only own a Talking Heads compilation and I got it from iTunes. boxed

However...'Nothing but Flowers' is one of my favorites and once i'm in the financial position to further my musical collection i will be checking this one out.

i think after the hit-or-miss mess of 'little creatures' and 'true stories', they cranked out one last album that was tight, intelligent and more mature than anything they'd ever done.

you should get "fear of music", "remain in light" and "speaking in tongues" first. i think that's the heads at their most potent. everything before those albums is great, but the quality builds toward those three great albums, then it kinda slowly declines for a bit post-"speaking in tongues"...they get their groove back with "naked", though.

Love it, but then there isn't hardly anything which involves David Byrne that I don't like.....

I still have my vinyl copy buried away somewhere. I don't think I've listened to it since the year it was released. I remember liking Facts of Life, but otherwise I honestly can't recall anything from the record besides Nothing But Flowers.

own them all via the Brick.... dvd-audio 5.1 mix Jerry Harrison.

This album does tend to go overlooked but Nothing but Flowers and the track sax and violins which I think was recorded in these sessions are wonderful.
Music is the best...

'sax and violins' is another great latter-day heads song, true. nod

wha-wha-WHAT?! Little Creatures is one of my favorites, but it may because it was the first one I got into. True Stories is definitely their worst though. I liked Naked's singles, but my memory of it as a whole is a bit squishy, and that it felt more like a Byrne solo album. I'll drag it out and give another listen, though.

little creatures has some really great music on it...all their albums do...but i think there's a lot of flat stuff on it too, and i also think some of the songs didn't hold up under the overplaying they got on the radio. not the heads' fault, but it wasn't as relentless as "speaking in tongues" and i think naked is a lot more focused and almost kinda elegant.

"(Nothing But) Flowers" is one my all-time favourite songs. I identify with the lyric. lol

I was working in a record store when this album came out and we used to play the CD all the time. Yeah, underrated record. Seem to recall liking "Mr. Jones".
