I have a subscription also. It's a funny magazine that doesn't pretend to be anything other than 15 minutes of amusement like for example Rolling Stone.

Anyone taking this ranking seriously clearly didn't read the part in the original post that said the list was tongue-in-cheek.

Its a fun mag to read, I wanted to subscribe to Blender, but as Iam here in the UK I could not. I did subscribe to Q but it got boring so fast and it focused on
that Indie crap. sad But yes they do sometimes get there lists a bit mixed up, but then so does Q. But Blender have better critics, and are more into popular culture.

I wouldn't put Tupac at number one on a list of overrated musicians...there are soo many overrated musicians who actually suck waaaay more tha he does who deserve that number one spot. With songs like "Dear Mama", "Keep Ya Head Up", and "Brenda's Got a Baby", I can't call him overrated. Tupac's image overshadowed his talent and cut his life short. From books I've read on him, many of his friends said he was nothing like the image he portrayed...sad, that he chose to get caught up in all the bullshit, because he had the potential to be soo much better than he was. sad

Early Tupac was the greatest.

I think that he was more overrated as a personality, than he was/is musically. He wasn't any sort of a 'revolutionary' leader or hero, who was gonna change the society of America around. He did not say anything about the ills of American society that had not already been said by many others before him. I also found him, at times, to be a very childish, immature and even an ignorant person. His musical style, though, was engaging, entertaining and filled with tons of style and energy. But his attack towards Biggie, on 'Hit 'em Up', was simply a pathetic excuse for a 'song', with no value in it whatsoever. But the man, as a whole, was both a talented rapper and an actor. But his music was in no way a 'revoulutionary' call to arms, as so many have somehow made it out to be.

But in any event, there is no way that he should have been placed at number one on the list. There are many other 'artists' who deserve this spot.

So who would your Top Five overrrated be because he seemed natural at #1 to me.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I would say:

1.) Britney Spears..she'll always be my number 1 pick

The rest are in no particular order:

Coldplay
Usher
Madonna
Rhianna
90% of hip-pop, er I mean, hip-hop

and I agree, Kurt Cobain is overrated.

2pac is not overrated. I can think of plenty of artists who deserve to be on that list before Pac.

Wasn't Lil Wayne just on Blender's cover being praised as a rap genius? Lil Wayne and genius shouldn't even be in the same sentence.
