It's September and we are headed into the last quarter of 2008. Where are the 2 remaining cd's from Erykah this year? Anyone have any info on this?

Good question but isn't she pregnant? If so, I think that alone would derail plans for an album release but who knows.

I´m a long time fan ( since 1996 ) and Mama´s Gun and Worldwide Underground are my favorite albums by Erykah but I still have difficulties getting into the New Amerykah album. It´s not bad but the style is...well, I guess I need a couple more months to get used to it, I don´t really dig that sound yet.
And the lyrics , including a lot of the stuff she wrote in the booklet, comes across as being written under the influence of a tad bit too much weed. Not that I´m against it but it sounds as if she´s overdone it this time. A puff every now and then is ok but this album sounds a bit unfinished,especially in the lyrics department....but hey, maybe I just need more time, like you. Maybe it will grow on me , too. I´m just a bit surprised and still shocked to feel this way about a Badu album because I usually like her material so much and have also seen her in concert but New Amerykah is REALLY difficult to enjoy for me.

I saw her at HOB last week with Jay Electronica. The baby bump was in full effect and school started last week. So something tells me it may be awhile before we see those discs.

I'm hoping the rumours about NA part 2 being more melodic/soulful are true.

Not that I want soulful,melodic lovesongs ONLY but NA was a bit too dark and unmelodic for me, and it sounds very halfbaked.Guess I gotta give it another try. Even though I bought it the first week it came out I could only listen to it a couple of times, that´s how difficult it was for me.

Did anybody see Badu on Soul-Stage on VH1 soul? Cuz that shit was hot.

Well, I'm waiting on that New Amerykah part 2. I love part 1, it had great lyrics, music, and very creative. It's one of the best R&B albums of the year, if not the best.

Same month we should also have Maxwell's Cd followed by Jay Z and Kanye in December...that looks like all of the 4th quarter marketing money...anybody else on those labels should reconsider releasing during these last few months of the year.
