This thread reminds me: I still need to pick up the remastered 'Inseparable' CD that was released awhile back. [Edited 8/31/08 13:17pm]

I agree, her 70s albums are amazing I wish I could get excited about her upcoming disc 'Still Unforgettable' but it looks like she's trying to re-live her 1991 glory Remaking her father's songs again! I wish she could go into the studio with Gamble and Huff and create a stunning R&B album....a soulful,retro-sounding album. She still has an amazing voice, she just needs the material.

I see what you mean, she tends to play it safe, like with her last album, which had only 1 (i think) new song.

The last album was okay (for a covers album) but I got bored with it very quickly.Cover albums never hold my interest for very long, which is why I want Natalie to record an album of all-new material. She could show these young R&B female artists a thing or two!

It sure is. As for the 1980s though, the only thing I like from her is "Jump Start" and the house version of "Pink Cadillac". Her slow stuff during the late 1980s was horrible Shitney Houston-ish type slow stuff. But as for the 1970s though, she had some great stuff both fast and slow. Andy is a four letter word.

"Jump Start" that's one of the funkiest jams she ever did."Pink Cadillac" was cool too....catchy song, fun video. Her entire 1987 album 'Everlasting' is great.Lots of great songs. It's probably her last truly great album. After that album, she got into the adult contemporary/jazz/standards stuff, which meant no more uptempo jams.

speaking of "Pink Cadillac"....the album version that appears on 'Everlasting' is a snoozefest. The single version is actually a remix, and it sounds so much better!
