Yeah, an obvious "father and son" deal going on there. It also reminds me of an old Diana Ross song, too. 
I've heard that Sly ghosted parts off that album (much like P did the follow-up). If that's true, wouldn't be a surprise if EGTS owes its groove to Sly directly. Now, that would be cool. | |

Thanx... Big fan of Nikka..I have all of her joints, seen her in concert a few times...But the first time I heard "Everybody Got Their Something", I was like "Damn...this is Sly's "If You Want Me To Stay" like a big motherfucker! Tp the point of straight song jacking. The main difference is Nikka's vocal melody ISN"T as funky as Sly's and the bassline is NO where near as on point as Sly's either. So what's the point?
