I listened to the sound clips on Amazon.com and I like what I heard Some tracks are laid-back and jazzy,while other tracks are pure,retro-sounding funk! "Are You Ready" has a pleasant,EW&F-vibe to it.This sounds like a perfect "holiday album"...you know,the type of CD you'll have playing in the background during the upcoming holiday get-togethers.

It is nice....but I hate the title of it though.

I figured this one would be right up your alley.

It plays like a tribute to Funk & Soul music of the 70s.
(P-Funk, Marvin, EW&F, Headhunters, etc)

Just a fun FUNKY/SOULFUL album that retains the sophisticated musicianship of George Duke.
Not to mention Jef Lee Johnson's superb guitar work.

He even gives a few musical nods to one of his 70s employers Frank Zappa.
(Zappa vocalist Napoleon Murphy Brock even guests on vocals)
