Old dude is being a bit too snarky here. Whether she was in the right or wrong he shouldn't resort to personal attacks. They are right in that the original interviewer got it right...but this dude is just adding fuel to the fire with the insults.

The sad part is that this will spark her album sales, WHY? its the HYPE generation, the soundbyte generation, regardless if her album is good or not, or her attitude whatever, no one cares till you make some stupid noise.

On a different note i kknow people that work for the 40/40 club here in NYC and that club is "changing hands" for alot of reasons, other than just being sold off.

I am not even seeing what the big deal is about what she did.

I just hope that she will be allowed to fight her own battle and not have her father or big sis send out a press release defending her name.

btw...sort of off topic but the anchorwoman that was interviewing Solange is Monica Jackson. She used to do the traffic reports here in Detroit. She was fired after she got into an off camera physical altercation with an anchorwoman right before they were about to go live one morning

Good to know that she was able to bounce back after the firing.

I Do Have an Apology to Make

It is not my job to make u like me.
You see, my occupation is an ART-ist.
It is not my job to rub your back, kiss your backside or keep my mouth shut.
It is not my job to make u like how I look – that's called a model.
It is not my job to sell you on my "personality" or "like-ability"
It is my job to share with you my music and my music alone.

If you're looking to listen to a musician's music based on interviews and photos,
then spending two years of pouring my existence into a record
will give YOU no fulfillment. (I recommend Disney.com ..... its a
fave of my 3 year old son)

At first I was going to speak my piece, let it die and move on, but
after FOX continued to drag this incident out over and over (Oddly
you cant remember my name, but MY incident sure is helping you get national news..... read YOUR headline
http://www.fox5vegas.com/...index.html
You should be proud that this is what you needed to get your shine on, lol)

It has now became a matter of honesty for me. I needed to find out for MYSELF, if I should have done things differently.

If its one thing I can apologize for, it is for backing down and giving in.

I told my mgt/ label when we got requests from the Fox News stations,
that I didn't want to be apart of anything related to Fox News because of their history of racial slander.
In the end, I committed anyways.

I apologize for not wanting to be controversial, for being lazy and
not wanting to fight a battle with an army. I apologize for
compromising my morality in the process.

I spent about an hour today looking at You Tube clips for guidance
I looked at Nas's speech in front of Fox's headquarters , I looked at
Kanye's Katrina comments, I looked at my fave Bob Dylan documentary. I
looked at countless Bjork interviews (I also looked at the link
below, an all time fave lol
http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

I was completely inspired again to see artists who risk validation
from peoples opinions, for what they truly believe is right.
I tip my hat to you ALL.
(I must admit, it is not sooo much Dylan's voice I love as much as it is his movement)

If I was in corporate America with a position at a large company and someone brought up something completely inappropriate about my family in a board meeting, I would have spoken up and said... "I think that was very unprofessional and please do not bring up my family in this meeting". This is exactly what I said.

Bottom line. Fox is lying and the whole thing was set-up for its on purposes.
Just know that FOX and Tmz are affiliates and you hear the reporter loud and clear say "Are you talking about whats on TMZ"?
If you haven't seen my vlog, before we went on air, I caught the
producers telling the reporter to "Ask her about Jay-z's club getting shut down" Which isn't true ,and that's where my reaction came from.
(It is not my job to dish personal details about my family and its offensive to even ask me in my opinion)

It is more sad to see my "rant" is more popular on your network's show than the news of The Republican Presidential Nominee's V.P. choice.
oh yeah, I forgot people go to real NEWS stations for NEWS Or is this the state of our people now? More interested in the details of this interview than the Monsoon in India.

I mean, I'm not Surprised when this is coming same network affiliate who called our future first lady, a

All this said... maybe she did over react... but from all accounts she may have been justified. It isn't like Fox doesn't have a well eaerned reputation to begin with. TMZ being affiliated with them. And woudln't you figure that there would be more pressiing news than to have kept drumming up this incident?

I really don't understand where some of the people in this thread get off bashing her like crazy. You talk about her actions.. but aren't noticing your own.

Well its a great stance, but she has to stick to it. I see stances from artists but then i see them caught in double-standards. I mean i remember back in the day Rage Against the Machine doing all this "Fuck corporate America" and then releasing their music on SONY the biggest company globally. My poin tis that she has to remember that the media will build you and will burn you. U cant use it and then bitch about it using you, thats the issue. She walked into this, i mean HOW can she think Beyonce or Jigga aint coming up? I mean say just by chance the two had just gotten divorced, do you think any questions would be about her new album? Its common sense. I applaud her speech on her site, but live what you write.

If she had went on Leno, Letterman or many others and asked up front for them not to bring up a certain subject.... they honor her request. This is standard interviewing etiquette. The intervewer usually doesn't want to offend the person they are interviewing. Solange asked them to not ask certain questions and then heard them preparing to do so any way... so she got ticked.

If she was guilty of anything it was that she expected proffesional treatment from the Fox side. They sounded like they were about to ambushh her with a line of question on air she had asked to not be a part of the interview... and she over heeard and responded.

She is not and will not be the last artist to be interviewed and respond negatively to the interviewer.

Also.... it is common practice for 'agents' and label to set these types of interviews up in order to promote thier investment. Many artist are contractually obligated to do these activities... whether they want to or not. Otherwise they risk losing any support from thier labels. I firmly beleive if it were 100% up to her... she would have never done an interview with them to begin with. But as she eluded to.. her label and aganets probably insisited and she agreed.

Oh i agree on all that but in terms of dictating what will be asked, not really. I mean its a pecking order with that, and Solange doesnt really merit being able to dictate an interview. I mean im sure we all remember the infamous Paris Hilton Letterman questioning, even though he said he wouldnt ask about jail, how could she think he would not, its very simple, use the media and it uses you. Leno also did this with Robert Downey Jr, back in 2002 on of his first interviews after being sober and clean, well the first 12 minutes of the 15 minute interview were about drugs, drug testing, what prison was like etc...so i hear what is being said, and FOX is a piece of shit for so many other reasons, but, media are like baseball fans, hit a homer and they love you, strikeout and they will run you out of town, and what you did before has no bearing.

like our actions or not, it still does not take away that she tried to use the network to boost her appeal to the masses and if she does that she comes off as fake and hypocritical. Actually if i was interviewing Solange i would just have to ask, "whats with your family ripping off Amerie?" "First your sister has daddy steal and delay her singles, than he gets them to shelve her third album in the USA" and "then you all of a sudden change your sound too retro, something Amerie did on her third record?"

What a pretentious cunt she is calling herself an ART-ist. I'd say that she's a PISS artist.

I think she's possibly retarded and doesn't understand what a small industry the music business is...the "Fuck The Industry" doesn't help. The biggest problem I have with her (apart from her lack of talent) is that she's not endearing or likeable in any way. This is why she will never have a successful career.

lol

I saw another interview with her and thought she was looking at the interviewer very shady. I couldn't understand why and then she had the nerve to be sarcastic. People don't really know her yet and I just found it very off-putting.

She sure does. There was bad blood between Monica and tv personality Carolyn Clifford. They were both vying for a top morning anchor spot. The position went to Carolyn, so supposedly Monica was not to happy about not getting the position.

Jackson on leave after fistfight at Channel 7

July 30, 2002

Where was Howard Cosell when we really needed him?!

WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) morning coanchor Carolyn Clifford and traffic reporter Monica Jackson got into a major fistfight off camera Monday for the station's very unofficial boxing championship.

The scrap drew blood and required co-anchor Erik Smith to referee the brief but reportedly energetic bout over a festering personality conflict between the pair.

Only keen morning viewers, who might have noticed that Smith carried on alone during the late morning newscasts, suspected something was amiss. News director Bill Carey said he couldn't comment on personnel matters.

So who got the decision? Award Clifford a technical knockout. Jackson was placed on indefinite administrative leave.

lol

And yes, she is the one that interviewed the Twinz.

I can't believe two grown professional women were fist fighting. In my mind, I imagine it looking something like this:
