wow why the fuck did I like beyonce? I was so hooked on her last year and this is coming from someone who laughs at today's music for copying everything done before
I saw her on tour and thought it was incredible. I bought the Beyonce Experience DVD to relive it and she really sucks! Her voice is so average and she looks like a sweaty horse like her sister! Everything about her just annoyed me, I'm glad I'm over her! I put in the Velvet Rope tour DVD after and even if Beyonce has a stronger voice, Janet is so much more genuine than her. Maybe I was missing Janet and that other sibling and needed someone to latch onto, but once Discipline came out, I forgot about her and now she's not all that. [Edited 8/26/08 6:03am]

I'll admit the DVD didn't live up to actually being there at all. I don't think much time or effort was put into that DVD. But seriously, you're full of inconsistencies. You said her voice is stronger than Janet's but average? You thought the tour was incredible while you were there but then for some reason the DVD changed your mind? Eh? And at Janet being genuine. Janet, I can barely hear her when she "sings", or make that speak sings. They're both talented but Beyonce's way better. And that "sweaty horse" comment was really bitchy and unnecessary. I think she looked absolutely beautiful.

I don't hold opinions on celebrities, nor constantly defend them. I think that's for losers....

I thought she looked gorgeous then too, but I think I've seen too much of her that I'm annoyed with her.
So it's the bad quality DVD or what then? It seemed different from when I was there, I was so into it when I went. I'm considering returning the DVD, it's a waste to my collection.

Yes, I believe it's the bad quality of the DVD. It was very amature, and not filmed well at all (in comparison to JT's concert DVD, that must've taken a lot of time and effort because it paid off BIG TIME) I think Beyonce is a true live performer. I think some of her magic is lost in the studio and on screen, but in real life she's almost overwhelming. Her lashing out seems crazy on screen but amazing in real life. I still don't get why you felt the need to call her a "sweaty horse" if you though she looked gorgeous...are you just trying to fit in with all the haters or something? Because I'm sure you'll become one of the "kool kidz" around here now that you've made this thread. I haven't watched the DVD since I first bought it, I prefer to cherish the live memory.

I think I'm just annoyed cause I wore out her shit last year and can't even listen to it now I do remember being blown away at the concert though, but how can work not be put towards the DVD? Or did she just have a bad night when it was filmed?

I do think it had to do with the camera/filming and also the set. There were basically just steps and nothing else. And the backup singers annoyed me. I didn't have to pay attention to them when I was there I don't listen to her songs now, I've over listened too. I'm not about to post an insulting thread about her though I'll just wait patiently for the new stuff.

Tell that to Sony and Cyndi who left it off the album in favour of dumbed down techno junk. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

The decade is ending anyways. I liked Beautiful Nightmare the minute I heard it, but a week later I thought it was the most annoying song. I felt like she peaked with B'day and it would be better to see her while at her peak, cause the last thing I want is to see her years from now doing shitty songs. I didn't like her first album much, so... [Edited 8/27/08 4:58am]

I like Solange's song I Decided. Wasn't it produced by the Neptunes??
how do you pronounce her name? In Germany it means "so long" (like in: "Your tea will be ready in hours" - "Oh, so long?"

But her songs always had little substance (to me). pretty ordinary sounding, nothing that makes a deep impression.
