If you honestly can't see that, I don't know what to tell you. I don't think I can break it down more than

However, I believe my original point was that you have comprehension issues, and you've just proved that rather neatly.

So thank you for that, and enjoy the rest of your evening!

falloff LOL! Well, before I point out your embarrassing mistake I have to explain that the post you're responding to is incomplete due to a computer glitch on my end. If you look just above you'll see my full post. The first thing I point out there is that what you describe is not a comprehension issue which is what you claimed I made. So right there you've shown your own comprehension difficulties.

But secondly, and most hilariously, you've TOTALLY misread GNS's point. His point there was that Sheila E had only had one hit. Read it again. That is a point that had NOTHING to do with my argument. lol He was arguing with a straw man. He made the same mistake again when he said..... "While it's true Madonna wasn't *insert sarcasm* the harbinger of artistry she is today, so too were alot of the folks there that night." Again, that has NOTHING to do with what I said.
I suggest you read these things a bit more carefully in future. wink Should you require further clarification feel free to reply. I will be here.

Just had to put name back in it, didn't you?

Listen here Brightness, how's about you not trying to misappropriate what I type to further embarrass yourself. 'Specially since you prefer to paraphrase and misquote me. I don't recall saying Sheila E. only had one hit. EVAR!! ButI digress. That's besides the point. Oh wait, that's right up yer alley.

Two things. Firstly the thing you've described is not an example of a lack of comprehension. Think about it. Secondly, please tell me what you think this "perfectly valid point" is. Don't be vague.

Well, since you ask so nicely, I will put off bedtime for one more minute.

Allow me to recap what happened before post #23:

GNS: "Why was Madonna not in the WATW sessions?"
^ Question posed

Midnightmover: "Because Madonna represents selfishness and personal material wealth, the exact opposite of what WATW was supposed to be about."
^ Answer suggested

GNS: "Your argument fails: Shiela E was also there, and she represents the same basic idea as Madonna, only is less famous for it."
^ Criticism of suggested answer

Okay, it's obvious you didn't read my previous post before you typed this out. I've often said that MJ fans are a devious bunch, but boy have you proved it big time right here. Look at the bit in bold. You have just put an argument into GNS's mouth that he never made. He never said Sheila E represented the same thing Madonna did. You said that. What he said was this..... "If I recall correctly, her only accomplishment as a solo artist at the time was "THE GLAMOROUS LIFE". Now, what obviously happened here is you saw the phrase "The Glamourous Life" and presumed that GNS was accusing Sheila E of celebrating materialism too. He wasn't. He was accusing her of not being very successful (a completely irrelevant point). As anyone who was around at the time will tell you, "The Glamourous Life" was actually a CRITIQUE of materialism. It told the story of a money grabbing girl who missed out on what really mattered in life. The lyrics went like this...

"She wants to lead the Glamorous Life
She don't need a man's touch
She wants to lead the Glamorous Life
Without love
It ain't much

Money only pays the rent
Love is forever
That's all your life
Love is heaven sent
It's glamorous"

lol So you see you have totally got it wrong in every sense. I'm not gonna rub it in. I don't need to. You tried to prove I lacked comprehension and you ended up proving exactly the opposite. Learn from this. Understand that although you may not like me I am always honest and logical in my arguments. Sadly the same is not true of my detractors. Have a nice evening.

You're being pedantic. You said ""The Glamourous Life" was her only accomplishment as a solo artist". It pretty much means the same thing and you know it. If you want to talk about someone paraphrasing you, go and talk to Annika who just completely invented a whole new argument on your behalf. lol
