My cousin used to force me to watch that dumb show -- seriously, why the hell would Jerrica want Rio when she knows he's "cheating" on her with Jem?!? confused -- but I've always been an unabashed fan of that theme song. Whose bright idea was it to replace it with that "Me and my friends [sic] are Jem girls" crap?

It's interesting to see so many cartoon shows posted, which reminded me of these.

I hadn't seen these therads before, sorry smile

You can tell what style of music I like based on the theme songs I picked. smile

I need to go back to trying to learn Good Times and The Jefferson's on piano. I used to try and play The Jefferson's .....it sounds so easy. like just a blues ...but when I used to try and pick it out it never sounded right. Maybe the recording is in bewteen keys....(that happened to me with the song We Are Family).

Good Times... I got one of the progressions down but I need to revisit it.

No worries. smile

Btw, i'd say that the Good Times theme is more Gospel than Blues based.

Wer? Wie? Was? (German Sesame Street theme from the 1970s) i highly recommend this to everyone. I think it's funky and has a Stevie Wonder like harmonica solo!

I don't know but changing my favorite cartoon's theme song to state "Once you're a Jem Girl you're never the same" gave me some sort of complex.

My favorite episode(s) "In Search Of The Stolen Album" was when Jem and the Holograms were about to drop a new album with "There's A Melody Playin'", then the Misfits realized they needed to compete with Jem's sound so they broke into the studio and STOLE JEM'S BEATS! The Misfits changed the words and recorded "There Ain't Nobody Better". evillol
