"Subtle Invitation" is a really nice track & she tried something she never did before on that one (real music with real musicians ! yes !!), i hope there will be more tracks like this on the LP.
The other 4 tracks are like everything you hear on the radio.

Just one last note before i go, i was listening to Minnie Riperton just before i listened to these mp3s, and was thinking Mariah Carey certainly got inspired by the way she sung and especially how she used to hit those high pitches.

I listened to two or three of the MC downloads. I actually enjoyed them. The music sounds much, much improved over her last two efforts. Now it only her singing would go back to the way it was back in the early 90s. Her voice is so breathy, it's hard to listen to her. Not very pleasing. She must have totally destroyed her voice with oversinging back in the day.
Overall, though, much better musically. I'll probably pick this up.

I listened to the whole album and it is nice. It's a mature album that is more soulful than her past albums which dabbled too much in Puff-Daddy-esque R&B Chick Hook/Rapper formula. "Subtle Invitation" is the joint, but I'm also feeling "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy" and "Bringing on the Heartache." Plus, "Through The Rain (Remix with Joe & Kelly Price)" isn't bad at all. This album is much better than Rainbow. Her best album since Butterfly.

Just downloaded the whole thing but I'm still not feeling it. No power ballads just the whisper singing that gets on my nerves after about 5 tracks. She has such a great robust sound when she belts it out and doesn't whisper.'Subtle' is different and good, 'Sunflowers' is another good one. Most of it very slow. Even 'Bringin on the Heartbreak' is not that bad. Not as bad as Whitney's You light up my life. ---------------------------------
Funny and charming as usual

Yeah,I've noticed that these days,Mariah sings in her low, breathy voice and she rarely ever BELTS out a tune anymore, like on her early recordings.Such a shame.
