Maxwell Returns For First Tour In Six Years

Absent from the scene for ages, R&B star Maxwell will embark on his first tour in six years this fall, beginning Oct. 8 in Boston and running through Nov. 21 in Philadelphia.

The artist hasn't released a new album since 2001's "Now" but continues to work on a three-part follow-up, "Black Summers' Night." There is no release date for or additional information about the Columbia project, according to a spokesperson.

The most recent details about "Black Summers' Night" came last September, when Columbia urban music exec Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua said that "Maxwell's still working with Sade's band, his tried-and-true team. He took some time off and now he's ready."

Joshua added, "He's recorded so much material that he's got a couple of albums done."

In the past couple of years, Maxwell has eked out previews of new songs on his MySpace site, including "Pretty Wings," which has racked up more than 762,000 plays.

He also made his first major appearance in recent memory at the BET Awards in June, performing "Simply Beautiful" as part of an Al Green tribute.

I understand the best seats are the double letters like AA, BB, etc.
