Last night I went to see Raphael Saadiq & Janelle Monae at Bimbos 365 in San Francisco. The show was funky. There are no words to discribe Janelle other than funknasty (is that a word -lol). I've actually had her EP for a few days before the show and haven't cracked it open yet. I heard she signed with Diddy so I hope she doesn't get lost in his madness.

Raphael (Ray Ray to those that know) did his thing. I remember when he was just starting out with Tony,Toni,Tone and doing festivals just to get thier name out there. My mom even booked them to do Junenth back in the day. His show was a showcase of TTT , Lucy Pearl and his solo cd songs. His new cd will be coming out this next month so I will be sure to pick it up. The cd is a throwback to the sounds and look of the 60's silky soul singers.

Pictures from the show. I had to delete the pictures that I took of Janelle because they came out fuzzy. I wasn't close to the stage for her show but got up front for Raphael.
