Hilary Duff - Says goodbye to Hollywood.....Records that is After her best record "dignity", and one of the best Pop records by a female in a LONG time, Hilary and her label have parted ways. Basically Hilary opted not to resign, due to some ill will that occured after the "Dignity" release, what happend was that Hilary had a few new cuts that she was doing on tour and she wanted to record a few more tracks and release another new cd in the same year, HOWEVER, the label said NO WAY, they wanted 2 of the tracks that she was doing on her tour that were new, and wanted to re-package it within "dignity", Hilary said NO WAY "thats a rip-off, to make my fans by the same cd again for 2 tracks". So the ill will began and Hilary pretty much got out of the deal due to this stalemate, however Hollywood now is going to still take those 2 songs and throw them on a Best of package for a September 23rd release, the tracks are "Reach Out" and "Holiday", Reach out is basically a re-work of "Personal Jesus" with a new twist. Yeah, she's shopping around for a new label now.
HR is a joke. They have basically zero staff, and can't market an album for shit. Their artists get barely any singles. Jesse McCartney had a huge hit at Pop radio with Leavin' and he hasn't even sold 100,000 copies yet. [Edited 8/19/08 16:15pm] | |

She had club hits with "With Love" and "Stranger", but this album could have easily had 6-7 singles if these were the 80's when singles existed, but nowadays labels pick one song and beat the shit out of it for months and months, look at Danity Kane's "Damaged" a top 10 single and a 7 month span between singles? wtf? they could have had another album in that span. Dignity itself was certified Gold, but did better out of this country, she suddenly has a huge south american following. Hilary should just release the shit herself, shes got the name and know how.
