another ne yo interview talking about mike With Gentlemen finished, he's now back to working on Michael Jackson's comeback album.
Ne-Yo says he met the superstar to discuss the project. "It was very exciting," he says. "Michael Jackson is one of the reasons why I sing. When we met he was really cool people. He was really regular people. Everyone expects Michael Jackson to be this weird guy and he's not. He had a regular suit on. There was nothing weird about him. We talked about music, where he wanted to go direction-wise, how we'd get the records to one another. It was a very calm, regular meeting." The concept for the album is to try to turn the focus back on Michael Jackson musician rather than public freak. "We're trying to get people to ignore the rumours about his personal life and get back to the reason why we loved Michael Jackson in the first place, the entertainment value," Ne-Yo says. "We want to get the music right. He's still dancing, doing his thing; it should be good." http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/stor ... 21,00.html

ne yo's current music sounds like boring-ass shit though he's a good writer
if it's superior to his work on janet's discipline, then it's okay. I'm not even excited about the album though, not expecting much.

If Ne-Yo is involved, the album might be a snooze-fest His productions have no life.

I loved the stuff he did around his first album, but now they sound boring cause all the shit on the radio sounds the same.

Yeah i agree. Ne-Yo is stuck on one song, all his ballads sound the same, and his uptempo songs are midtempo which is why its boring. His work on the Lionel Richie album was horrific, the stuff he did with Nicole on her solo record was his typical "thing" and ended up getting dropped from the album. To me theres just alot of HYPE building, i mean tons of talk of Akon production than Will I am every other day talking about tracks, now Ne-Yo is back talking again. How about everyone shuts up and LETS the MUSIC TALK, let fans build the HYPE. Considering that Michael usually records dozens of tracks, and then discards most of them, isn't it a little silly for Ne-Yo to be talking at all? It's quite possible that the finished CD won't have any Ne-Yo songs on it.

That's why I don't listen to current music anymore. I've never seen so many dead asses in my life. His work on the Lionel Richie album was horrific,
And it's rediculous that a man as talented as Lionel would contact someone else to work on his album. Back in the day, Lionel was contacted by other people to work with them on their album. Older artists nowadays call these youngsters to give them a modern shit hop sound and that's exactly what I don't want when I buy an album from an older artist. . . . They said that about Invincible and look at what happened with that one. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
