On a recent vinyl dig,I bought the Player album that contains this song.It has always been one of my favorites.I really like the (slightly) extended version that appears on the album. It has a longer intro that's just heavenly I dig that bassline.
Who remembers their follow-up single "This Time I'm In It For Love"? That one is great too.

One of the best jams from the 70's. Love this song. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

Absolutely love this song...but then again, I'm a sucker for the 70's music Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

you were born right in the middle of the disco era, huh? The second week of '78 "Baby Come Back" was the only #1 song through the first week of May (of 6 total) not written or co-written by a Bee Gee. [Edited 8/15/08 6:36am] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I remember that time. The first several months of 1978 was dominated by Bee Gees songs. It was surreal.

Why do I have this funny vision of you dancing around your room in 1978 singing into a hairbrush. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

Makes you realize how much musicianship and creativity actually went into music when you compare to most of the stuff that's labeled music these days. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I've always associated that song with being in kindergarten and childhood memories. A 70's classic. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
