I finally bought songs in the key of life Only listened to disc 1 so far and I really like it! It sounds so timeless I forgot it's over 30 years old sometimes. The lyrics are awesome too...no wonder people on here laugh at mj's lyrics on Dangerous (if you haven't already, though I love that album too) after listening to and reading stevie's lyrics.

Incredible music is supposed to sound timeless and Songs In The Key Of Life is the one of the best examples you'll find of timeless, classic music. Like what others here said, wait till you get to Disc 2. [Edited 8/11/08 11:02am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

you're right, I loved that one the best on the second disc, followed by As, Black Man, Ebony Eyes. I tend to like his funky fast songs best that remind me of the jackson 5 material (only saying that cause I've listened to them more often so far though he paved the way for them)

YES! YES! I couldn't help but think of mj and jackson 5 the whole time Is it true they're distant cousins? Janet claimed that one time. I love Higher Ground for that reason, sounds like a melodic leave me alone [Edited 8/11/08 11:20am]

Reading the posts, I better get the album once I have some cash. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Any music lover (regardless of your favorite genre) should have this album in their collection. I've heard the same thing for ages As much as I like the whole thing, I prefer the fast songs more than the slow ones though those are pretty too.

The more you listen to the album, it will take you through a journey of a generation of human beings. Listen to the lyrics and arrangements. Very intriguing. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I wanna get it but I somehow never got around to buy it and right now I am really broke, but it´s gonna be better in September. The more fast songs, the better the album. And an album with no fast songs, shouldn't be made in the first place. Andy is a four letter word.

I'm buying Innervisions next
Vainandy, so in other words, you would love a shitney album full of how will I blow, i wanna smoke with somebody and step-by-step X 12 ? :p Just teasing, I know exactly where you're coming from. And looking back at 90's r&b, it was so boring and dull though I didn't realize it at the time.

They remind me of a goodie two shoes cheerleader picking pedals off a flower and saying..... If he loves me If he loves me not Andy is a four letter word.

I'm not going to lie, I love singing those songs, although she makes me feel like shit after for not sounding strong like her though I am strong. Oh well, it's not like I want to be a cheerleader.

She ain't gonna do no fast songs live because she would have to somewhat dance on the stage and she ain't got no rhythm. I'm tellin' ya, God put a white middle-aged soccer mom in the wrong body. Instead, she'd rather simply stand in one place on the stage in front of a microphone and sing. In a long ass evening gown that goes all the way down to the floor.....looking like a drag queen. I bet she's got a dick tucked so it won't bulge under the dress. . . . [Edited 8/12/08 10:03am] Andy is a four letter word.

I sometimes shake my head at those songs like "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and the videos are just atrocious. [Edited 8/12/08 10:14am]

Definitely in my top 5 albums of all time. One of the few that can pull me out of a seriously bad mood, and even make me see the world differently for awhile.

Yeah there was a lot of good reasons why Stevie put this out and I agree, it brings me out of a bad mood too.
