The mighty WE'VE GOT A FUZZBOX & WE'RE GONNA USE IT!! One of my favorite bands of the 80s. They were like a British version of the Go-go's perhaps. Only released two real studio albums and underwent a massive makeover in sound and looks in between.
First album: "Love Is The Slug" video Second album: "Self" video (Queen's Brian May played the guitar solo in the studio.) [Edited 11/5/12 14:07pm]

Vix is the lead singer. Maggie and Jo are sisters I think on bass and guitar. Tina plays drums. They released their albums in the second half of the 80s--right around our time! This is the cover of their greatest hits CD:

I think Erin needs to look at Vix's hair in that video!

I LOVE Fuzzbox! I only have the first EP though Love is the Slug. They didn't put out that many albums...and I heard that the ones that came after the debut were a lot more poppy.
I still need to get a copy of the first one. I am also guessing you and I are probably the only ones here who know their music. Christian Zombie Vampires

I actually heard their poppier album, Big Bang first when 120 Minutes showed the video for "Self" one night. Dave Kendall, the bastard, said it was the first and probably only time it would be aired because it sucked so bad. Screw him, I went out and bought the CD almost immediately. The first album has never been released on CD. You can get some of the tracks though on disc, on the greatest hits CD I posted earlier (it includes a region 2 DVD of ALL their videos). There are also a few demo and live collections floating around. I think among them you can find every one of their songs from their first album on disc, just not the original studio versions. Or you can just buy the first album on vinyl. I am shocked they even made it past one album. I read in Star/Smash Hits that they were just at a party and someone asked them to play. They didn't even know how to play or know what notes they were playing. I suppose it got them pretty far. WHat's also interesting is for as much as they have this punk look and sound they totally give off the 80's new wave vibe at the same time. Christian Zombie Vampires

There was speculation that the band didn't even play on their second album. I don't know if I believe that. It probably got started because Brian May's contribution was uncredited at the time. And I agree, the group had more in common with Sigue Sigue Sputnik with their crazy looks than any punk band.

They also remade "Bohemain Rhapsody" (a cappella b-side to "Self"), "Walking On Thin Ice" (on the Big Bang album), and the theme to the Barbarella movie (on the b-side of the "International Rescue" 12"). The video for "International Rescue" spoofed the Barbarella movie: I'm sure there are one or two more covers I'm forgetting. [Edited 11/5/12 14:09pm]
