Michael Jackson or George Michael: Who's got more talent??

I think MJ is deeply musical though he's not a musician. He wrote some of the biggest pop hits at an very young age, but if you compare what each of them did at the same age I think george Michael is the better artist.

GM was 20 when he recorded Make It Big! He wrote Last Christmas, Go-Go, Everything She Wants for it. (an at 17 Careless Whisper)!! The rest of the songs are listenable as well!

MJ when he was twenty: OTW was mainly produced by Quincy Jones, only three songs by MJ and (imo) the best ones wrote Rod Temperton!

When they were 25: Michael worked on Thriller. Again, he wrote only 4 songs (but they're fantastic).
GM wrote FAITH. not only did he write ALL the songs on it, they're also fantastic and hav great lyrics. they're intimate and deep and sensitive.

I just think that MJ's best albums are the ones where he didn't write all of the songs. He can definitively write great songs but he's not as talented to carry a whole album with meaningful songs!

And just compare what George Michael did in his 30s! Michael Jackson could have never achieved this!

I'm seeking for some hot arguments!

they are both great in their own way...why does one have to be better????

they were meant to do a duet together at one stage but it fell through...just like jackos nostrils.... sad

GM visited Mike 1986 at his Encino home! GM said it was like a business meeting, with Jackson not looking into the eyes.

i favor michael , just look at the motown audition video , just raw tallent right there. when it comes to song writing , i dont know who to favor. and when it comes to live performances all i can say is that michael has not performed live since 2001. i dont know for now but he used to have an incredible voice , and he could emulate the sounds he wanted to hear for the producers. so he was part of the creative process in that way. but george michael is great too !

MJ is more popular but GM could sing MJ under a table. GM has written some beautiful, complex songs over the years as well.

though I'm more into mike, george is unbelievable at what he does and has a fabulous voice and writing to go with it. Careless Whisper is still one of my favourite songs of all time. I Want Your Sex sounds like an mj song to me for some reason and I've heard others say that.

Me too. I have eveything. GM is one of my fav artists. MJ was good back in the day, but he's just way too weird these days and I find him to be a total turn off now.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Yeah, I would say so. I prefer the sound of MJ's voice, but I'm not afraid to admit that GM's is just incredible.

They're both extremely talented guys in their own right, though.

I'm shocked that anybody would say that GM can outsing MJ. GM is great at what he does. But, to say that he can outsing MJ is a bit far. But, it's all relative anyway. why compare. biggrin

GM can outsing MJ because I've never heard Mj singing like GM did on Somebody To Love or his bautiful live-intros of Careless Whisper.
GM has that fantastic vibrato in his voice that MJ never could come up. Does he ever sing that way?
Have you noticed MJ sings staccato or soft ballads? And when there are notes he could sing with some vibrato he prefers to scream

btw, GM is the only singer i know who can't seem to scream. his voice never gets scratchy,

Both are. GM is still working his talent and MJ is not.

It's a real hard thing to compare, seeing as George just came off of a successful tour where he sounded amazing and MJ well, we're still waiting for the Katrina single. I don't think anyone has heard him sing a full concert in a very long time.
