Charlie Singleton - 'Nothing Ventured. Nothing Gained'

Holy mother of God this album is FUNKY AS HELL!!!!!

I am totally digging his freaky cover of "Thank You Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Agin", and the title track of this album is so funky it's got me making that serious funk face.

Show some love for this album!!

I have it and (like Charlie's other solo joints) I'm not crazy about it.

I love Charlie and he's one of my favorite underground guitarists.(Victor Johnson, Jesse, Spacey T are others) but his songs are weak. I realy wish he would put together an all instrumental CD. I know he can do it.

I also love his live "quick solo" moments with Cameo.

I love Charlie's solo as well as his Cameo joints.
He is a serious talent, but you can tell he does not take himself to serious.
There is a sense of humor on all his albums. His vocal arrangments are a lot like Prince.
But hey different people like different things.

He has a Stevie Wonder remake on his new CD.

I've always dug Charlie and I have his solo joints. Not crazy about this album BUT the album that I do like a lot is his solo album "Modern Man". Very cool cuts on that album. "Tears In My Ears" is bangin.
