Xavion vs Mazarati

I was recently hipped to Xavion thanks for the Org and I love this band. They absolutely rock. I love how they are a combo of hair metal and minneapolis funk. Self built hell, get me hot, go to your head and eat your heart are the bomb. I think they actually blow Mazarti away and I love Mazarti! What do you all think? Overall I think Xavion are the shit but I love both bands. Did Prince have anything to do with Xavion? are there any other similar bands you all wanna school me on?

Prince had absolutely nothing at all to do with Xavion other than jacking a lick from them to use in Erotic City.
And Xavion > Mazerati.

P was DEFINATELY hip to Xavion and proved as such from his biting and placement in E.C. as Blaque has stated. Xavion was already out and doing it's thing long BEFORE Mazarati vere came out. No doubt Mark Brown, the mastermind behind Mazarati, wasn't hip to Xavion either. Can't compare the two thought. Totally different. I love the hell out of MZ's debut and the musicianship on that album is BANGIN' (courtesy of BrownMark and P) but I also dig Xavion. They were paving a different path at a different time in the music biz. Theirs weren't as
"acceptable" at the time as MZ's was. MZ got some notice being on P's label and P's high profile. MZ should have been a lot bigger and that album could have sold a lot more if the promotion was there. Xavion didn't have the luxuary of riding in on a purple trenchcoat..They laid their thing down all on their own. So for that, they have my respect.

wow thanks for schooling me. i didn't know prince actually stole some of their shit. i think i just love how xavion are hair metalish. at times they even sound a bit like Enuff Z'nuff to me. i love hair metal as well as the minneaplos sound and i've never heard the 2 mixed together until xavion. mazarti also has a glam thing going on but i do think xavion's album does it more for me. they both rock though.

I could have sworn that Erotic City was out before Xavion's stuff.

Cool to see some Xavion appreciation. They were way ahead of their time.
