She ain't gonna do no fast songs live because she would have to somewhat dance on the stage and she ain't got no rhythm. I'm tellin' ya, God put a white middle-aged soccer mom in the wrong body. lol

Instead, she'd rather simply stand in one place on the stage in front of a microphone and sing. In a long ass evening gown that goes all the way down to the floor.....looking like a drag queen. I bet she's got a dick tucked so it won't bulge under the dress. lol

Oh, I used to be absolutely horrible. I used to make remarks that I couldn't listen to her because I didn't have any milk to dip her into. I had to stop that though because it was starting to sound like Louis Farrakan and I'm a white whore my damn self. Or even worse, it was kinda sounding like krayzie. lol

No, not the song, lol.

He wrote a song that was made into a duet. I forgot what it was called but it only hit the R&B charts. Too bad nobody really remembered it, lol. I don't even remember it making a big deal like Al B. Sure's duet with Diana Ross was making at the time.

Actually, they weren't surprised at all since we had all been friends and grown up together. They knew my motto at the time was "if it ain't black send it back" but later on I got me some white dick and my new motto changed to "I'm an equal opportunity whore". I like it buffet style. Put it all out in front of me because I want to try some of it all! lol Oops....now I've done got to talkin' about sex which is a different story altogether. Anyway, musicwise, I don't like such a wide variety though. lol

I can agree with you. Love (and sex) is universal. But music is selective unless it's good. lol So I definitely get where you're coming from, bruh. lol

I do like a wide variety but I won't dig it if it straight out sucks. lol

Yeah, as for diversity in music, I'm not really that diverse at all. My first love was disco and I also liked some of the rock during that era. After disco, I got into funk which was the closest sounding thing. After funk, I got into house music which was the closest sounding thing. I liked rap also but it had to be that fast ass shakin' tempoed rap just like disco had been previously. When things finally slowed down and got as far away from disco (which is dance music) as possible, that's when I started bitching about music. Correction though, it wasn't that disco was all that or the greatest music ever or anything, but I guess you could say that I was always into some form of "dance" music because that's what music is supposed to be about anyway....fun. As for slow jams, those had to be about fun also and what is more fun when it comes to slow music than sex? They have to be those after midnight bedroom type slow jams. No sunny Sunday afternoon adult contemporary type shit.

"Songs In The Key Of Life" was a little too diverse for me. There were several tracks I would skip such as the one that was the original that Coolio had sampled in the 1990s. Coolio's was the first I had heard of it so when I heard Stevie's original version, I couldn't listen to it with objective ears because they had already been raped by Coolio. lol I wouldn't have cared for that song anyway but I couldn't get Coolio out of my head when hearing the original so that really made me not like it. lol I do like a lot of the songs on the album though such as "I Wish", "Sir Duke", "All Day Sucker", "As", "Love's In Need Of Love", etc. I'm not gonna lie and say I like every single track though.

I gotcha. Oddly enough, the most danceable records on this album were "Black Man", "I Wish" and, especially, "Another Star". But I dig the entire album too. nod

yeah when I first heard Gangsta's paradise, I loved the music so much and then it turned out to be a sample! LOL

And if you like fast fun songs, and "creative" slow jams, I guess you like janet's current work? Am I right?

I don't like "creative" slow jams, I only like sexy ones. lol

As for Janet, I stopped listening to her beginning with "That's The Way Love Goes" when she came out with those midtempo drum machines that have that weak shit hop sound that was just beginning to take over R&B during that time and still dominate it today. As big as she was back then and as highly anticipated as her forthcoming album was during that time, I think someone of her popularity could have helped shoved shit hop back underground if she had come out with the hard jams like her previous album. Instead, she helped introduce even more of that weak sound into the mainstream and then it really took over.

Shit hop is one genre that I absolutely would love to see die. It's death would be like an orgasm to me. lol And I don't support anyone that helps it to continue to exist or, even worse, helps it to grow. Compared to shit hop, Shitney Houston's songs sound as funky as Rick James. lol

I agree. I wish shit hop would die also. It was cool when I was younger, but I can't listen to a mainstream radio station anymore without hearing shit like Lil' Wayne. Lil' Wayne (and most of this dirty south crap) is definitely the death of any music genre.

To me, when rappers started getting rap sheets to promote a project, it ticks me off. It makes us, as a people, look extremely bad.

I wish there were more projects like SITTOL that were being made. Those types of projects are needed at this point in music. The concept album is pretty-much gone for now (thanks to the digital age). Let's hope it will come back around again.

Any music lover (regardless of your favorite genre) should have this album in their collection.

I couldn't agree with you more! 'Songs In the Key of Life' is the best. The lyrics and music. There's NOTHING this man can't do! I got this on vinyl when I was twelve for Christmas and my sister borrowed the album and lent it out to a friend of hers and I NEVER saw it again-lol. I mean-I get why-it's fantabulous but back then I was so pissed! This one goes down in history as the greatest
album there is! 'Isn't She Lovely' is my personal favorite on this one.

I'm not sure if I should get characters or not. I know there's the mj duet on it, and I sampled the album years ago and thought it was like another Bad, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it or not.

I like Characters a lot. It's the best album he made after 1980 hands down IMO. Still, I'd suggest getting the aforementioned albums as well as Where I'm Coming From, Hotter Than July, and even Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants first.

I just brought Characters a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was pretty good, even though some of it does sound dated. It is the best album he did after Hotter Than July. Where I'm Coming From, Hotter Than July, and Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants are essential purchases for a Stevie collection. If you can't find WICF or JTTSLOP in stores, then make sure you pick up Hotter Than July and the Jungle Fever soundtrack after you get his classic 70's-era works.

Those three(along with Songs), are an absolute MUST in anyone's collection. IMO, Innervisions is the ultimate, but it's like arguing apples and oranges.
