The Best Things In Life Are Free

I was riding with my mom somewhere when this first came on the radio. I remember being super excited because I knew it meant another Janet album was due out soon. Just makes me happy.

I'm kind of surprised this didn't have more legs and was never put on any Janet disc (unless it's owned by Virgin but they have enough stuff to put on a greatest hits should they release on). Haven't seen the video in forever and I'll have to check that out later.

Janet included the song on the international version of Design of a Decade. Luther also included it on his 2nd volume of Greatest Hits. If I'm not mistaken, this album/project/soundtrack was on Jam and Lewis' Perspective label and is now owned by Universal.

pretty sure it said A&M on the sleeve, but I don't remember.

i like the remix on the international DOD better than the original at this point.

Yeah, A&M originally distributed Perspective Records, but the label closed after about 3 years. Their catalog was picked up by Universal.

This is a HOT HOT jam. I wish it had got played to death. The melody is the best thing about this song. The chorus is so carnival and fun like. Jimmy and Terry's instrumentation was on point. The banging new jack snares all over the place.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
