Will Patience end up being the last NEW George Michael album?

I know Patience came out in 2004, and while it has nothing on George's early music, I'm finding myself appreciating it, and "An Easier Affair" a lot lately. I think it is due to the fact that George Michael may not release another all new solo album.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but on George's website, it makes it look like, once his 25 Tour ends (only a few shows left) he is calling it quits.

Maybe it is just his shows....but on his website it keeps saying his "Final" shows. And the last time the word Final got knocked around in George's world was with Wham!...and we all know what happened after that. Wham! excited the picture.

So I was just kinda curious what others who like his music thought. Do you think there will be a new George Michael full album....ever? Or you think he will stick with online releases/greatest hits releases from this point on...?

they were the final wham! shows, and these were to be the final george michael solo shows, although he added one copenhagen after the Final 2 shows. he is giving up solo touring, mainly as he hates touring. it's not to say he won't perform live again, as he doesn't mind live perfomances, it's the actual touring and being away from home that he didn't like. the current 25 tours were his first in about 15 years, but he has done many shows in the last 20 years that weren't part of tours, mainly charity gigs like live aid, live 8, freddie mercury and nelson mandela shows etc, but also live tv performances and things like unplugged, so i imagine he will continue like that

he has always been slow at releasing albums, he's not as prolific as prince for example, and for the last couple of years he's been concentrating on his tour, and after that's finished he will probably take a break for a while before getting back in the mood for more new live material, by which time the public may look forward to buying it, rather than being overloaded by annual new albums by some artists

perhaps another covers album after the tour would be a good stop gap if he doesn't have any new material written. he's covered stevie wonder many times for example, so he could release an album of covers of tracks that inspired him. he's released many many covers, including some under psydenoums, such as you spin me right round (dead or alive), jive talkin' (boogie box high), etc so it wouldn't be unusual for him to do it again

I don't care what he says anymore. He's changing his mind all the time. An example?

After the FINAL Wham! concert GM and Andy performed AGAIN in 1987 for the Princess Trust concert. Is that "final"?
Also Andy came up to play guitar for Careless Whisper in 1991 in Rock in Rio!

GM said he will stop doing prmotion and release a new album within a year (from 1990 on) This should have been LWP Vol. 2!!
But it never happened.

An YES he said how much he hates to tour. But he toured for nearly TWO years now! It started in early September 2006!
Someone who doesn't need the money, does he tour that long if he doesn't enjoy it?

Also you can't forget that saying it will be his last tour is a good way attracting more people to your concerts!

And his music: He's lazy. He claimed in 2004 he will release his new music via his website. Okay, he had to release the Best Of, whch led all in all to 4 new songs.

Now that he's finished, I hope he'll release new stuff RAPIDLY!

Really, I'd DIE just to listen to his demos or outtakes from ANY period. There's only one demo, the 1996 version of Please Send Me Someone.
Why's GM he only Major artist whos demos didn't leak?

i found out a while ago that pop stars are actually human, and not special alien beings like in that david bowie movie. apparently that was just make up and special effects

being human unfortunately means that they can change their mind like the rest of us, and change views of things. how many people say they will never drink again after a hangover and they are back in the pub the same night?

wham! the final was the last wham! show, wham! is/was more than just andrew ridgely and george michael, you had pepsi and shirley, dee c lee, dion estas, etc. wham! have never reformed since those shows. having wendy and lisa play with prince at the brit awards doesn't mean the revolution reformed, likewise brown mark, dr fink and bobby z at the first celly

he most definately is lazy, that's his problem. he has too much money, doesn't need any more, doesn't need to record or tour. he spent $50 million on the damian hurst diamond skull, he bought john lennons imagine piano and the murder she wrote typewriter for example

there are george michael outtakes and unreleased songs and all sorts of stuff out there, some in perfect quality that obviously came from very close sourses, but he tends to release all of the few songs he writes, so no left over unreleased songs, just different mixes (and not just unreleased dance mixes, and promo only dance mixes). it's just hard to find and track down. there are unplugged rehearsals, early wham! live shows, and george michael tour soundboards, and there are probably a few officially released tracks that you don't have, and maybe never even knew existed. he's collaborated with a few people in the past and has made secret guest appearances either uncredited or under psydenoums

FUCK! I just searched on youtube. George Michael wrote the song. Sounds like a typical Wham! outtake

boring song anyway, no wonder Gm hasn't used it for himself.

June Montanna How Many Hearts (Does A Married Man Need)

Gm wrote and produced it, and people say it sounds like Soul Free!! A great GM gem!!

I dont think it will be his last record, i dont think he is going to pull a Billy Joel on us and never record a new vocal record, but i do think if he does, he needs something more than a dance record, i would love to hear George working with a live band behind him, or even if he plays the instruments in the studio, i just think hes done the dance thing for so long there needs to be a new angle

Patience was hardly a dance album!

Although there are some dance songs for me it still feels boring and lame. In fact, his danciest album is Fantastic! with only ONE ballad biggrin

I hope it's not his last album. I love his dance based stuff. I hope he does more. If anything on his last solo albums, he has done too many ballads.

He said he was quitting doing huge tours like this and wants to concentrate on doing smaller and more intimate venues
