Love Rush by Cheryl Lynn and Janet Jackson's You Don't Stand Another Chance I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned here. Cheryl Lynn's "Love Rush" and Janet's "You Don't Stand Another Chance" are damn near identical.

I just did a little research and apparently this track is from Cheryl's 1983 Preppie album (which featured production from Jam & Lewis). I don't think this track is produced by them though. Pretty funky! I had no idea Janet's track "stole" the music from it. Both versions are pretty great if you ask me. Identical right from the intro drum roll, intro before the verse.. Even the short "b-section" before the hook.
This is like lawsuit worthy. Funny thing is you know down the line Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (who produced "Encore" on Preppie) listened to Janet's 1984 album and heard this. | |
