How is TALES OF KIDD FUNKADELIC?

How is that album? I know it was released without the groups permission by Westbound records...Is it a good CD?

One of my favorites from Funkadelic...A definate must have if u really dig Funkadelic..."Butt to Butt Resuscitation" "Undisco Kidd" "Take Your Dead Ass Home" and my fave "How Do You View You". Great album. Not like the the Hendrix/Sly combo of Free Your Mind/Maggot Brain..closer to a Parliament sounding album in the production. A very "smooth" sound, especially for Funkadelic. A transition album. George wanted to get more sells from the black audience with Funkadelic to hang with Parliament and I think this took care of that. "Undisco Kidd" and certainly "Take Your Dead Ass Home" were big with fans who adored Parliament and became staples at Parliament-Funkadelic shows in the late 70's. Again, a must have.

Also, the title track, which is an instrumental, is very cool as well. Very Pink Floyd-ish too me.

Testify! No pun intended. wink
Yes. One of many great Funkadelic releases from this era. Basically, if you dig the Funkadelic stuff from this era you'll dig this album. Simple as that.
BTW, does any one know when or if a new Funkadelic album is coming out? I thought there was some info that one was coming out last year spearheaded by Blackbird and Lige Curry amongest others. There was even any a little video with them taking about it on the net.

"They call me the Kid..the sexy man". It's a slammin' CD. "Butt To Butt" is right up there with anything heavy that Deep Purple or Sabbath did. A must have.

Bfunkthe1 don't hold your breath on a new "Funkadelic" CD. George has been talking about a "hard and heavy and nasty" Funkadelic CD since 1994. "Chinese Democracy" has a better chance of hitting the music stores first before a new Funkadelic CD comes out.

Yea I know. I remember him saying that back then.
There was supposed to be a Funkadelic album called The C Conspiracy in the Days of the Last Time Zone or something like that. It was supposed to come out around 2000. I believe there was a Pedro Bell cover for it. Some of those songs are on George's last album. Then there's the Mammouth Sessions.

Yeah the "C Conspiracy" was the CD that he supposedly let Byrd and Mike let loose. He wanted to show the new "rock" generation they could still rock hard too. Oh well, still have the old stuff to listen to.

That would've been cool right.
Yea George was saying we were gonna get a new Funkadelic album and a new Parliament album around that time. Oh well. Like you said, we'll always have the old stuff.

In my own opinion it's one of the weakest p-funk albums (from the classic era that is). shrug
