I'd never heard that song before - I like it. Madonna has this great way of conveying sorrow in her songs.

How has everyone heard "Liquid Love"? When did it leak? Recently? I hate being on this slow connection!

You're so late...that song leaked years ago lol Here it is on Youtube:

One song I don't like is "Amazing".Aside from the fact that it's a "Beautiful Stranger" rip-off,it's just a boring track.

I remember William Orbit talking about this album before its release, and he was talking about how solidly melodic all the tracks were - yet i find his stuff on the Music album some of the least melodic stuff she's done.

Nobody's Perfect is brilliant - but i kind of wish it didnt have the vocoder all over it. Amazing & Runaway Lover are a waste of space. Ive recently started to rate Music above American Life though.

"Nobody's Perfect" is a song that I didn't really like until I saw her perform it on the DWT.I agree with you about "Amazing" and "Runaway Lover".If she had replaced those songs with two stronger tracks, the album would have been much better as a whole.

"Nobody's Perfect" is perfect and I think the vocoder adds to its charm. That's my favorite by far.

That one especially! omfg

I haven't really loved a Madonna single as much since "Don't Tell Me". Something about the choppy arrangement, hard drums, and strings. cloud9

Sorry, Cinnie, but I can't agree with that one. It took me a long time to warm up to "Don't Tell Me" and I'm still not completely sold. I really want to embrace it, but it still feels a little off. I prefer all of the Confessions singles to that one.

"Don't Tell Me" is an interesting song....an odd mix of country, pop and electronica. It was one of her edgiest singles of this decade.I like her raw vocals on this song....she sounds a little like Sheryl Crow.

not really a fan of this track. it's like a second cousin of Power Of Goodbye and To Have And Not To Hold. it's nice enough, but doesn't really grab me.

ummm, no. lol

Liquid Love was cool the first three times I heard it or so, then I realized why it never made it to an album.

Don't Tell Me, on the other hand, is one of her few true classics from this decade.

hmph! "Liquid Love" is better than every song on that album not titled "Nobody's Perfect."

Don't Tell Me, on the other hand, is one of her few true classics from this decade.

Eh, I'd say "Music," "Hung Up," and "Sorry" are all more worthy of that title.

"Music" and "Hung Up" are definitely modern classics, but "Don't Tell Me" is going to be one of her few tracks from this decade that 10 or 20 years from now is going to stand the test of time and not sound dated or vapid.

confuse it's probably her last honest-to-goodness, bonafide hit in the US. i still hear this one relatively frequently. which is fine, because i love it.

When I first found out that "Don't Tell Me" would be the second single from the album,I thought that Warners were crazy.I was thinking that "What It Feels Like For A Girl" or "Impressive Instant" should be the follow-up single, but it turns out that "Don't Tell Me" was a good choice. It caught on with the public and went straight to the Top 10.

nod

And really it was pretty damn experimental, pop or indie.

For example, not many tracks completely drop out midway for 2 whole bars to reveal very dry vocals.

It's a very edgy song....unlike anything Madonna had done before. That's what I really like about her albums. She tries new beats and new sounds on every album.
