What's New in Your Collection? I don't care if you bought it, stole it, downloaded it, "acquired it" after drugging your granny's Metamucil...what's new? I just privatized my Social Security at the Electric Fetus with the following:
Allman Brothers Band - Eat a Peach (1972) Lou Donaldson - Gravy Train (1961) Bill Evans - Conversations with Myself (1963) Don Henley - Building the Perfect Beast (1984) George Michael - TwentyFive (2008)

Trinere // Trinere (1986)
--Has all her hits (short versions, anyway): "I'll Be All You Ever Need", "How Can We Be Wrong", "All Night", "They're Playing Our Song". I started a thread already. (lookin all serrrrious lol) Harvey Mason // "Groovin' You" (1979 original disco 12") -->listen: skip to 2:45 for recognizable groove Dance Hits ~ Sixteen Of The Best From `86 (K-Tel) --The sound on this is awful but it was inexpensive and look at this tracklist! This is some org schitt. So Macho - Sinetta When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going - Billy Ocean You And Me Tonight - Aurra The Finest - The S.O.S. Band Alice, I Want You Just For Me! - Full Force Sugar Free - Juicy Saturday Love - Cherrelle Holiday Rap - MC Miker G & Dee Jay Sven I'll Keep On Loving You - Princess Jump Back (Set Me Free) - Dhar Braxton Set Fire To Me - Willie Colon Soweto - Jeffrey Osborne Bassline - Mantronix Amityville (House On The Hill) - Lovebug Starski Barry White // No Limit On Love (1974) --I don't know anything about this album, it is on Supremacy Records distributed by Scepter, which all seems like weird licensing to me. Anyway "Under The Influence Of Love" is on it. Love Unlimited // Love Unlimited (1972) --Has one of my favorite soul songs ever "Walking In The Rain" on it. Shaft (1971) --Songs from the movie not performed by Isaac Hayes, released on Pickwick. Dr Dre sampled this for "Xxplosive" (which in turn Erykah Badu sang over on "Bag Lady"). A different track from this record was also the intro bed for Biggie's "Freestyle Live At Mister Cee's Crib" Kool And The Gang // Light Of Worlds (1974) --This one has "Summer Madness", "Rhyme Tyme People", and "Fruitman" but I have so many Kool And The Gang albums already (a mixture of reissues and originals - whatever I can get my hands on) that I had all those tracks. I wanted "You Don't Have To Change". People Under The Stairs // The Om Years [2008 new release] Om refers to the label that released the early PUTS material. Haven't even opened this one but disc one has a lot of the album stuff "Give Love A Chance" and "San Francisco Knights" but then disc two is b-sides and rarities. I love this duo. I think they have a new album coming out very soon called Fun DMC. The Cool Kids // The Bake Sale [2008 new release] -- They have been doing their thing for a while now and they finally have an album you can buy which compiles the songs that have been floating around the internet for a couple years ("88", "Mikey Rocks", "Black Mags" video link)

Nadia Oh / Hot Like Wow (2008) Nadia Oh / Hot Like Wow (2008) [ Got this a few weeks ago and have been bumpin a lot of it steadily through the summer. It's an electro/europop album with the Tiger Trax sound emblazoned all over it -- heavily influenced by current UK electro, robot rock and Southern crank. I first heard Nadia Oh through Space Cowboy's club cut "My Egyptian Lover." This album is strictly made for clubbers in mind -- notably "Got Your Number" [video above] (I love the minimalist hard thump and sparkle on it), "That Kind of Girl" (which sounds like Sheena Easton's Sugar Walls updated for a myspace generation). The synths glow and sound very current and when it sinks in it's very throwed. ]

Somehow I actually know this one. It's so damn vacant, I can't help but like it. I knowwwww! That's the best part about the whole album for me. It's just something to just do your thing to. It's straight up, going out, summertime, be vacant, don't care, just do your thing-type music. I love that sound when it's hot outside.
