http://blog.myspace.com/maxwell Tuesday, July 01, 2008 fire WORKs thank you for the kind messages regarding the AL Green tribute. He still put us all to shame and rocked an impressive set. We should all be so blessed to have an honor as wonderful as he deserved. jill scott and anthony hamilton what can i say god made your vocal chords on the seventh day with the other stuff. it was a complete honor on all fronts. it don't get better than Al Green. m. p.s. reading and adding your comments on the profile. thank you for taking time out to say the word. love and all that mushy stuff. p.s.s. who has something thats about to drop finally?

Yes, but I really think the BET appearance was meant to re-introduce him.
Everyone seemed to love seeing him again!

Well, it´s finally summer, and it is the best time to release " A Black Summer Night´s Dream". ...
This being said, I believe it when I hold the actual CD in my hands. Maxwell and D´Angelo are both VERY talented and interesting musicians but they are also both far from being prolific.Hopefully the new album sounds more like Urban Hang Suite and Embrya and less like Now. That Now album wasn´t really hot. I prefer the concept album approach behind Urban Hang Suite and Embrya. Embrya gets a lot of flack but I really liked it and still listen to it on a regular basis. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Agreed. Now was rather boring. It has moments, but most songs just don't seem to get off the ground. I dunno. UHS and Embrya are classic. Unlike some around here, I love the alt/soul sound on Embrya and still listen frequently. As far as the new album, I just hope it's good. I hope he worked with the Sweetback guys and whoever else he worked with on the first two albums. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Sweetback really added a lot to his style, especially Stuart Matthewman, the sax player from Sade´s band. That was a very creative collaborative effort. It was a little bit like listening to a male version of Sade. Sweetback is basically a more experimental version of Sade without Sade Adu. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. I will believe this when I am holding his CD along with Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy," Lenny Kravitz's "Funk," and Joi's "Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome" in my hand!
(Well... I got the Joi album!)

I have Joi's Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome.
Like everyone else has stated. I'll believe it when I have it. After his re-introduction, its not hard to believe that it exists and the label is prepping the public for his return. Whether or not it actually happens is a different story.

So much has changed since the both of them last dropped albums.
