Seriously though, he wasn't horrible, he just wasn't very distinctive.
He didn't have one of those voices where if you heard a tune you weren't familiar with you'd say "That's Ralph Tresvant doing on lead vocal."

I tend to think the opposite - his voice was distinctive, but not in a very good way. He always sang like he was sucking on helium. Even in his 20s he sounded like a little boy.

NE were fun. I used to and to Cool It Now, but his singing? shrug Not super, and as a performer he wasn't dynamic.

So in other words you're saying he was distinctively bad? smile

Ralph has always been a good studio singer, IMO. The Heartbreak album (thanks to Jam & Lewis) was Ralph at his peak vocally. Ralph shines better in NE than he does solo.

These are some songs that really showcases Ralph's vocals;

Mr. Telephone Man
Crucial
You're not my kind of Girl
Superlady
Earth Angel
Do What I Gotta Do
Never Noticed

he's shit of course. He was great on Candy Girl, but his vocals on the second ecord were extremely silly (Cool It Down)
PLUS he never wrote a song by hismelf.

lol If I had pictures, surely I'd share them. biggrin But I do not, so you'll have to imagine how distinctively bad a breakdancer I was.
