Stax Records

I'm looking to get a good compilation of Stax music--Otis Redding, Booker T & The MG's, etc. Is there a good one out ther that you can recommend?

I'm particularly interested in Booker T & the MG's but not necessarily on their own, just as the backing band is okay, too.

They were a great mix of soul & rock & roll. More bluesy than Motown. Also they were integrated at an early age. Plus how can you deny this dancing? Austin Powers must have studied this video!

A couple of suggestions...

...The Complete Stax-Volt Singles 1959-1968 & The Complete Stax-Volt Soul Singles, Vol. 2: 1968-1971

However, those 2 sets will cost you at 9 discs per.

This more economical 2 disc set came out last year...

...Stax 50th Anniversary Celebration

I'd also keep an eye on the Concord Music Group's site since they own the STAX back catalog now.

tA strikes again! I think 18 discs is more than I need right now, but the 2 disc set looks perfect!

TA beat me too it. These sets are GREAT.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
