Am i the only one here who liked "Just Whitney"?

Yhe first single wasn`t all that good, but her cover of "You light up my life" and "Tell me no" are nice.

It was a soild and consistent effort, but some of the songs just sucked like 'Whatchulookinat' and 'You Light Up My Life.' My personal faves were 'Dear John Letter' and 'Things You Say.'

I still don't understand why some panned it because the album was pretty good. sad

I would also say it was solid but was hoping for more dance pop/upbeat R&B tracks ("Love That Man" was OK, but not that satisfying in comparison to "It's Not Right..."). Stuff like "Try It On My Own" and her take on "You Light Up My Life" are great AC tracks (and I still hear them in Meijer and other places that play that play that stuff sometimes). I think critics were just being dumb and attacking her and not the album.

I haven't heard the new leaked track but I'm hoping she is going for "WhatchuLookinAt" Part Deux or dumbed down R&B. An album more like this would be better in comparison to the same R&B producers like NeYo, et al.

I thought it was a pretty solid attempt, but it seemed to lack any real standouts.

While I've never known Whitney to have a classic album, she had always managed up until Just Whitney to have a monster/notable single from each previous release.

It's fine by itself, but it clearly pales in comparison to her other albums.

I actually like "Whatchulookinat." My favorites are "Try It On My Own" and "One of Those Days."

One of Those Days, Whatchulookinat, and Dear John Letter are all stellar. Tell Me No is OK. The rest is shit.

falloff Oh Lord! I always said, since day one, that she was a black version of someone like Debbie Boone. I be damned if she turned around and remade her song. lol
