I downloaded the "Thriller: 25" album to see what all the fuss was about, and "P.Y.T" was the only one that wasnt ridiculously overplayed and/or cheesy as fuck

lol

"P.Y.T" from the album "Thriller"!!!

It doesnt have the horrendous keyboard-bass (you know what i mean, lol) that plauges most MJ songs, and he doesnt even grunt like a retard in it!

O M G

This is a very, very odd moment for me....

....and you would know something about being a retard I take it?

Be funny if R Kelly ever sampled the track on a remix LOL. I bet he's been tempted.

Anyway OK song I guess.

Quite easily the most dated cut off "thriller", and whilst that doesn't bother me, the track itself is probably my least played off the album. Heck, I've probably played "the girl is mine" more times then "P.Y.T"...

.....At least "girl is mine" is (unintentionally) hilairious. Me and my mate did that song once in a talent show LOL. So, something funny came out of it.

I have never like this song. It is worst than the lame 'Baby Be Mine. (which sounds like an 'Off the Wall' reject).
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Well, let's say I'm glad you found a song you like, MJ or not, but the dissing you're getting isn't out of place... not coz you don't like MJ... but the reasons are... excuse my language... Fucking Retarded!!

You could hate his voice, hate how unchallenging his songs are, hate his musical style, hate how over-produced his later albums are... but "horrendous keyboard bass" "grunt like a retard"... well who's that other artist that overused keyboards and grunts a lot?(Hint: he's the reason you're posting here)

(Note: I love it when Prince Keyboards to death and grunts instead of breathing) lol

Rant ended... moving along! cool

Thing is, Prince can actually play instruments such as the bass and the keyboard, whereas poor old whacko jacko has to have songwriters, producers, instrumentalists etc etc

And sure, P may use "grunts" aswell, however its generally slightly more believable that he is lusting after a woman seeing as he hasnt had the young male sexual abuse cases, and he doesnt look like a more feminine version of his sister...

So MJ doesn't have as many musical talents as Prince... WE KNOW!!! razz

So what you're saying now is that you hate MJ's music coz he doesn't make them himself? not coz they're bad?confused

Just say it, you hate MJ's music coz he doesn't appeal to you... that's it, easy!biggrin

I still hold my view about the reasons you listed being unreasonable... since we're not talking about how weird MJ is, or how much input he has on them or how hard he worked on them, we're talking about whether the music "Labeled as MJ's" (Better now?) is good or bad... In addition to the more logical reasons I have mentioned above, add "I just fucking hate it! My taste!!" wink

Okay, you say :
everyone gets pretty nasty when you're not in the "Prince: Music and More" forums..

and then you say some stupid shit like this?

First off, if you knew anything about Michael's work, especially from 1976-now, many of his best songs were written by MICHAEL JACKSON HIMSELF
you want examples:
Blues Away
Shake Your Body Down To The Ground
That's What You Get For Being Polite
Heartbreak Hotel
Lovely One
Billie Jean
Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'
PYT- the original version
Got The Hots

I can go on all day. Yeah, we all get it: Prince is a musical genius, and a jack of all trades, but have you ever thought maybe, just maybe, there were definitely times when Prince himself could've used a producer to say "Hey, that's awful, fix that shit" Here are some of those examples
Under The Cherry Moon
Temptation
that grunting and screaming on "God"
Graffiti Bridge
Jughead
every damn song Tony M is on lol

a producer is one who helps the artist expand their direction and helps them pick the right material, and that's something Prince could've used several times in his own career.
"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

So Prince would of been able to write great hit songs by himself at the age of 11 till 17? I don't think so. That was the only age where Michael needed songwriters and producers. Of course he has used both even after 18 but the point is he didnt need to because he proved he could write and produce superbly by himself. I have to say some of Prince's music sounds a bit cheap, he could of used a few producers.

And also Michaels grunts are trademark sounds, he doesnt do that on songs where he's supposed to sound horny like a certain someone might, it's a natural thing he does when he sings. And also it's not hard to look feminine compared to Janet.

I don´t even have the energy to comment on this. All I can say right now is rolleyes

I´d love to hear some of those songs he wrote so early. Anyways, I remember him complaining that Motown did not want to let him release his own stuff saying they needed a producer. So who knows. I haven´t heard any of those songs to know if they were worthy releasing. But it would be cool if he released them now. It would be definately interesting.

Guys, it's not the fact the she hates his music that bothers me, it's her trying to appear objective by stating the dumbest reasons for hating MJ musically! lol

Whatever rolleyes

greyhoodiegirl, I wasn't trying to be mean, you can hate his music all you like, I don't really care smile, but the reasons you stated aren't objective but mere "MJ PEDOPHILE FREAK EWWW YUCKY!" kind of reasons... and those ARE retarded in this thread since we're talking about his MUSIC not his PERSONALITY... OK? wink

If you have good reasons to hate his music, we can discuss it... and if not, you'll get the mean replies (which aren't direct to you as a person, but directed at you're reasons)... and if you just said "I just hate his music FULL STOP" then you have all my respect wink and if people tried to put you down after THAT, you can tell them to "Fuck Off!" cool

... umm OK I guess I said all I needed to say now lol

To me it's not about who's better. Prince wins hands down. But I love good music. If Michael stuck to the soulful stuff that made him a star I think I would love every song he ever made. What I can't stand is his "ooh's aah's and crotch grabbing." Songs like Stranger In Moscow, Who Is It, Liberian Girl, Rock With You, I Will Be There and Billy Jean I don't just like I truly love. He could have a 100 million selling album if he stuck to songs like those. He needs to get the soul back into his music like he had with Quincy.

Wow he was under some crazy drugs in this. The way he's talking and how he keeps saying things like I dont have a good memory, but some of the details you wouldn't forget unless you were gooone. Haha 'Jack Still', how embarrasing, I guess 'That's What You Get For Being Polite' would be quite hard to remember under the influence. What was this for?

Jack Still was actually the original title of "That's What You Get For Being Polite". Sometimes he comes up with the title after the song is written, kinda how Earth Song's original title was "What About Us", and Bad was "Pee" lol

I just watched it again and he already says 'Thats What You Get For Being Polite' then repeats 'Jack Still' and says there both on the Triumph album when it's on the Destiny album, which is still a pretty embarrasing mistake to make about your own work. I dont think this was a case of not having a good memory, or painkillers from a dentist, I've never come home from the dentist like that from the painkillers. Didn't Liz Taylor even say he was abusing drugs during this time? And again what was this for?

I do think he was on something at this point, but still, MJ has something of a history of not remembering stuff about his own work. When he was taken to court over Dangerous and had to sing the song, he forgot most of the lyrics after the first verse and chorus, and when he was interviewed on the radio in 2001 or thereabouts, just after Invincible had dropped, he couldn't remember how many tracks it had. I think he probably really does have a lousy memory for things like that.

Well, this was a deposition taken in a case where some dude sued him for stealing The Girl Is Mine, We Are The World and Thriller saying that he wrote it, not MJ. This is MJ´s deposition where he´s showing how he wrote these songs.
I think the deposition was taken during the first allegations so we know that he was taking something, I don´t know exactly what. But yeah, he does have a bad memory for stuff like that, but on the other hand has an unbelievable memory for other things. For example, if you watch the other parts of this deposition where he´s demonstrating how he wrote the songs, he seems to remember so many years later exactly how the song got created in his head, which is unbelievable.
