Disturbia/Rihanna Appreciation Thread.

NOTE : TotalAmalisa, please stay out of this thread. You ruined the last one.

Anyone else loving this song and video right now?

I think her vocals are getting better, too. She reaches some pretty high notes towards the end of the song. I applaud her (and her team) for pushing the envelope and coming up with something creative and interesting to watch. Notice she's sitting in an electric chair towards the start of the video. Creepy.

I find it funny that for all the MJ style snatching Chris Brown does, his girlfriend did it 1000 times better and basically made a Thriller for the new millennium. I actually wouldn't let kids watch this.

I also like that this video isn't focusing on her body or sexuality either. That was the one thing that annoyed me about all her previous videos and was what ruined the Umbrella video.

Did anyone really expect this girl :

To come out with tunes as solid as Don't Stop The Music, Umbrella and Disturbia? I sure as hell didn't. I wrote her off as a one hit wonder. falloff

Yes Disturbia is not getting any videoplay obvious reasons lol but I think it is her most creative and enticing video. my favorite song by her is still "If It's Lovin That You Want" ..which I didnt think it got the play it deserved.

The song can be left more to desire and I'm tired of hearing it along with Forever by Chris Brown...

Disturbia's dum dum dee dum dum chant reminds me of that song "Im Blue" by that one dance group I cant remember their names rolleyes

I admit, I was the Debbie Downer of the group upon first hearing the song. Sounded like all the other pop-fodder she had done before. The video however gave me a complete change of heart. While it's still not a big artistic departure from her previous efforts, it's a nice start to would could become a foray into the dance genre.

Release me from this curse I'm in
Trying to remain tame
But I'm struggling
If you can go go go
I think I'm going to, oh oh oh

LOL, I was hoping that first line wouldn't garner any quotes.

It's probably safe to say she'll definitely make her presence felt now. lol

I've seen the "Distrubia" video a few times (duirng the morning....VH1 tries to play videos...All MTV seems to do is rehash their awful "music video show" with Pete Wentz every weekday morning. It's really out there and cool. A great dance song that reminds me of the 90s although it sounds modern.
