Pat Metheny, "Are You Going With Me", Live...

This was my first taste of Pat. I remember being a teenager and hearing this song for the first time. I could not believe my ears!! I wondered what that sound was? It sounded like a guitar but then again,it didn't. Here it is for your viewing pleasure....Enjoy.

Love that wild-haired, short pants wearin' hippie. smile

Not really a fan of guitar-synths (even when Holdsworth does it).
Somehow those 2 manage to make it work most of the time.

My first expericence with Metheny happened earlier with the release of the first...

...Pat Metheny Group album in 1978.

And this song in particular...

...Phase Dance.

Always enjoy the great ensemble playing and the wonderful synergy he has with keyboardist Lyle Mays.

Kool!!! classic Metheny tunes, y'all

I've always been a fan. It's funny -- I always think of him as a composer first, who happens to play guitar--here are two of my favorite Metheny compositons:

First Circle

To The End Of The World

"To The End Of The World", is my second favorite Metheny track, from my favorite CD. I have the DVD of this concert, of which this clip is from. That "thunder clap", towards the middle was surprising the first time that I heard it.

biggrin Ndeed!! This is a nice concert. I caught this tour a couple of times and this piece was really impressive to see live(I got the sense that some in the audience weren't ready for that thunderclap, though... lol !)....

Kool album!

The first tune I heard by Pat and Lyle was this one, from the same record:

San Lorenzo
