HELL YES!!! hands down one of the best soundtracks ever!!!!
I still blast this cd till this day, "Mo' Better Blues" is one my favorite Spike films, and I love to watch sexy Denzel strut across that screen with his chocolate self.....that man can walk, no man on this earth can walk that walk like the D!!! I just love the style of this film too. Spike really captured the true essence of jazz in this movie. I always wished there was like a "jazz renaissance" type area in our downtown here in Richmond, VA, but I guess we still have to wait a little while longer..... But back to the soundtrack, my favorite cut is #4: Again Never (Album Version) Branford Marsalis Quartet;Terence Blanchard 3:54 Though its sad, it has such a strong undertone to it. I feel so sophistocated and chic when I listen to it. My next favorite track is cut #7: Beneath The Underdog (Album Version) Branford Marsalis Quartet;Terence Blanchard 5:07 Hott!!! [Edited 7/31/08 15:18pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

i haven't seen this movie since seeing it at the theaters.
i've always been tempted to revist, but was worried it would ruin my original thoughts on the film. this seems to happen a lot to me.

It's funny how we all change and evolve. I remember liking Clark when I saw it years ago. When I recently saw it Indigo is the one I liked (there's something about Spike's sister). I've always liked the soundtrack and the Mingus songs used in the movie.

Very good soundtrack. My fave is the title theme. I play it regularly.
If you can track it down, I highly recommend the score CD for Spike's The soundtrack was nice, but the score CD shows how Blanchard truly is a master of his craft. My fave on that project is "The Old Days."
