Damn Mariah!!! Let me just start off by saying that I am a huge Mariah Carey fan. Let's just say I would drink her bath water in Room 319.
Am I the only one who is amazed at Mariah Carey's staying power. And I know there will be some haters with something to say about this but I think it is pretty ridiculous that she has been topping the charts for nearly 20 years. I was scared she might of hit the bottom when she had her emotional and mental break down during the "Glitter" phase, but she bounced right back. While the other divas of her time have pretty much fallen off she is still making hits and looking as fine as ever. I wonder what Whitney, Janet, Madonna, and Toni are thinking?

Even though her music has changed from the adult contemporary sound of 1990-1993, I believe she has held on to that audience, in the meantime picking up a newer (younger) fanbase that likes it when she sings with T.I. or whoever.

Someone recently pointed out to me that when he thinks of Mariah he hears her voice, sees images of her in his mind, but can't remember any actual songs [Edited 7/30/08 16:27pm] My Legacy

Well said. I suppose some of her AC audiece has gone (wern't her early albums huge sellers?), but the way she changed and adapted without looking like she sold out is commendable. I presume she still has some AC/MOR ballads though off her newer albums?
