"Lovely Day" by Bill Withers (1977) Another song that makes me feel glad that I grew up in the 70s Check out the charming little video that someone made:

Love this cut!
Got the album on CD and LP, love the cover It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

One of my favorite songs ever. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Great song. For me, it's in the same category as I Can See Clearly Now - beautiful, positive, and always welcome to my eardrums.

Ok, show of hands: Who here has tried to hit that "Daaaaayyyyy" note without taking a breath in between?
And then who has actually DONE it? nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

And then who has actually DONE it? Every damn time I hear that song I give it a shot. I think I actually got it once. But even if you and I hit that note it just does not sound the same. We would sound all out of breath at the end, yet he sounds like he could just keep going. Ridiculous! [Edited 7/30/08 13:56pm]

This is a great track from a great album. My favorite track from this however, is "I wanna spend the night." Beautiful song. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Awww...I love that song. Every day should begin with that song.
Has anybody ever seen Bill Withers in concert? "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

whats a great album? If you're just getting into his music,I would recommend you start with his 1972 album 'Still Bill' From there, you should check his out excellent live album from 1973: These are the two albums that will turn you into a fan, mark my words

I like the song for the most part....
But he is completely floating in and out of key/tune on the big notes.. In fact I have to change the song by the end. But the verses are very cool. Music is the best...
