Nice. I just ripped my Bright Lights Big City to MP3 again. One time I was all for just ripping the Prince song, but now I want it all.

I'm playing these records right now and I noticed after playing side one of Bad Girls and flipping over the record that my copy has side FOUR as the B-side. At first I thought the label was just mispressed but then "Our Love" started playing on what should have been side two. I don't mind it though. I think it's actually nice to have the songs I'm most familiar with on one LP ("Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls", "Our Love"). While I know "Our Love" wasn't a single (according to Wikipedia), I'm very familiar with it because there was very popular cover of it with Icelandic lyrics over here in Iceland in the mid-90s (sound sample here: http://www.tonlist.is/Mus...x?ID=37245).

Yeah, the songs on Donna's 'Bad Girls' album are arranged in a funny way.The first record actually contains Sides 1 and 4,while the second record contains Sides 2 and 3.The reason for this is....it made it easier for DJs playing it at a disco....this sequence worked better for them (somehow).

Not only that...remember people had component systems in their home. They would put more than one record on the turn table at a time.

Man, I am soooo pissed! pissed

Last year, I did some volunteer work for a senior citizen that had some vinyl that would blow this fucking board's mind collectively!!!!!

I'm talking some serious, never, ever, again to be found shit! Redd Foxx, Moms Mabely, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Richard Pryor and much, much more, in mint condition!!! disbelief

I asked her for them but she said she was leaving them for her family! pissed

The "dark side" kept telling me to just take them and I wanted to really, really, really, really, really, fucking bad but I didn't! doh! My conscience, gets on my motherfucking nerves!!!! pissed

My husband and I had to video a wedding yesterday that was just around the corner from where she lived, so we drove by there, at my insistence and there was a huge dumpster outside filled to the brim with items that I knew belonged to this woman.

I got out of my truck and knocked on the door to find some young relative of her's. I identified myself and was informed that she'd gone on to glory but she'd spoke of me often. I asked what happened to her record collection and the bitch told me that they were at the bottom of that dumpster! pissed

My husband had to literally, pick me up, throw me over his shoulder and forcibly put me in our truck, to keep me from diving into that dumpster to go after those records! pissed

pissed pissed pissed

...so you went back later without your husband knowing, right? Right?!? (And what kind of music-hating freak is he? Dumpster-diving is nothing a shower won't fix.)

Actually, this month I've been mostly buying CDs, but I've picked up some vinyl too. Here's some of the stuff I picked up, off the top of my head...

The Temptations - Hear To Tempt You
The Swordsmen - The Swordsmen
The Miracles - Do It Baby
Donny Gerrard - Donny Gerrard
The Tymes - Trustmaker (though mine is titled 'Ms. Grace', probably a UK release or something, but it has the same tracklisting)
Stanley Clarke - I Wanna Play For You (finally found a vinyl copy of this one)
Jerry Butler - Power Of Love

I have a few other albums by them: 'City Of Angels' (1975) and the one that came after it.I like their music from this period,so eventually I'll get the other albums too.

Well Iceland is a very expensive country in general so the price of the records is reflected in that..... I think the total was equal to 95 euros. I bought most of the records in a sort of "package deal"... the Prince stuff is very hard to find over here unless I attempt to import it through ebay. I should add that for each package I get from ebay stores (or amazon or just online stores in general) I have to pay 3.50 euros for postal services plus I pay 7% VAT and 10% customs charges on top of the price WITH the shipping charges from the seller. If I attempted to buy JUST the Let's Pretend We're Married single from a ebay seller it would cost about 25 euros in total (based on the cheapest auction with a "buy now" option), of which 17 euros go to the seller if I include shipping charges.
The cheapest record I got at the market was the Bright Lights Big City OST which I bought for approx. 2 euros. All the records were in very good condition except for maybe the Bright Lights OST which had a few skips.
