This albumn should have had more air play when it came out.

so what soundtrack was Klymaxx's "Man Size Love"' and New Editions's record Oh gosh I can't remember. but does anyone know what I am talking about?

Shalamar's record was when the new group took over too with Howard Hewette isn't it?

some of the songs from both beverly hills cop 1 & 2 were not even in the movies,
they were just tacked on the soundtrack LP.

Vanity's nasty girl which is in the first movie is not on the soundtrack,
while Shalamar's don't get stopped in beverly hills and The System's Rock & Roll Me Again are not in the movie but are on the soundtrack.

same with the second movie, a few of the songs on the soundtrack are not even in the movie.

Also, there is a great track in the movie during a playboy mansion scene called "hold on", but it was never on the soundtrack, only in the movie.

I managed to find the song on youtube here, you can download the song from there as well, its a cracking 80s synth rock track!

Its funny that a white German synthesizer guru called harold did all the funky electro music in the background, such as Axel F and other stuff, and he also did the main songs for the movie as well!

He made "Stir It up" for patti labelle, "The heat is on" for glen frey, and for part 2 he also did "Shakedown" for bob seger.

He also did that "Bit by bit" song by Stephanie mills, its on youtube, quite funky stuff!

The guy is a legend, made good music, and good songs. I think the guy is retired though.

I thought the song was Once in a Lifetime Groove. They must have been on Beverly Hills Cop 2. I have a few 12 inches from that lp. But the first is definitely better.

I've heard mixed things, some say it's the worst film ever made, some revere it as an '80s B-classic (it was just released on DVD in the UK). But I know 1986 had some seriously bad films.

Related, Julien Temple's Absolute Beginners [1986] (the musical where Sade made her first acting appearance and also starred David Bowie -- and coincidentally was the film that inspired Janet's 'When I Think of You' video) was one of the biggest box office bombs of all time. It bombed so bad that the movie house that made it, Goldcrest Films, went out of business.

I didn't know that movie bombed that badly. I was 5 yet I remember the David Bowie song.

Yeah, it bombed much harder than Howard The Duck. Howard at least managed to break even... if only by ten thousand dollars[:needlejump:], but it made even nonetheless! lol

I've been blastin' this OST alot recently. Its a very summer sorta album LOL.

Bytheway, Rod Temperton is involved on all the tracks production wise. Very dated mid 80's pop. I enjoy it alot more then BHC OST actually. Title track is the best cut for me.

Very interesting, but I much prefer Cory Harts version though. Love the production on that one. Moroder was in charge of Cory's version.

Yeah, "sweet freedom" is so summery and 80's LOL.

"Man size Love" by Klymaxx is good. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a single? Its catchy and fun. Though Iam not a big fan, the ready for the world track ain't bad either. But as I said, Fee Waybill gets the best cut for me with "running scared". First half of the album is great fun.
