Oh god i just watched MTV for 10 minutes and i think i my IQ dropped 20% and i wanted to kill 4 people.

All i was doing was watching the premiere of Danity Kane's "Bad Girl" video (BTW 6 months between singles?and the video was edited? thats for another thread)

But as i watched i felt my IQ dropping, and it had nothing to do with DK or its members, it had to do with that Pete Wentz guy who now is a tv host, kind of like that Sugar Ray guy who everyone called a rock star, First clue, you cant be a rock star when all you do is "pose", you have to play and do something that has meaning. But then after they show a video on this show, they go up in the booth, to get feedback from 2 hacks that MTV employs, one dude is from England and apparently he's on this show to make MTV seem more international since it plays "Leona Lewis" and has a hack employed from england. Then theres this other dude with his "Laptop" his trendy jacket and those glasses that every guy in fucking america is wearing to look cool, and sits there and "critiques" and "blogs". Oh god someone just end this fucking generation already. These two guys (and also PINK was there, talk about NO personality) were so boring and dumb that DK left before they even spoke, walked out.

In case anyone is curious MTV is trying to show that they play videos, by premiering them on this "monday night football" type show, though on Fridays.

it troubles me that young adults would want to watch The Hills. If this is what our kids are turning into...well, we're simply going to have to kill them all. Maybe their parents too.

I'm more worried that you were interested in anything by Danity Kane lol

I fast forwarded through 10 minutes of that G's to Gents show & immediately killed it off my season pass & deleted the 2 shows that were taped. I just can't handle certain kinds of mindless garbage. I think I'm officially done w/ MTV except for Runs House, which gets more & more fake each week. hammer

Well i cant be serious 24/7 and Dk are one of those non-serious things, plus we have mutual employers at times (hence the Cassie connection) so it wouldnt be right for me to check out their new video. Plus when i worked in music you had to know and listen to everything like it or not, new.old, good, bad etc..u get the point. As for those other shows, i never watch MTV unless i know i have to for a certain artists premiere or appearance, those reality/dating shows are ALL FAKE and scripted, every single one of them from Runs House, to G's, to Parental Control to all the ones on Vh1, all outlined, edited and fake. The only music station i watch is Vh1 classic at this point.

Ld,

I often make the mistake of picking the wrong treadmill at the gym, and MTV, M2, Vh1, are most of the time on. I don't listen but I do admit I watch with one eye.

Let's be real, the people that watch that crap are not music fans, they are voyeur's who want to see tacky mfr's of all colors either flaunt money they 99% of the time don't have, or self destruct.

MTV at one time was pushing exciting music for the most part.

Back to my never ending rant on mediocrity.. in 2 mins on MTV I can see more fake bullshit and talentless f&cks. It's like one big joke. only today's youth buys this as talent.

Rappers still talking about cars and bling, with stereotypical big bootie chicks dancing. EMO rockers acting like they wrote the next London Calling, pop stars who no longer sing live, and teenage boy groups that make NKOTB looks tough and talented.

The best thing that could ever happen would be that those stations are destroyed.

I get so fng angry cause 15-20 yrs ago pop or mainstream music was actual decent with real musicians, 20-30 yrs ago it was life changing.

No one cares anymore, fuck songs,, now it's ringtones or commodore 64 128K bit songs bought as singles no albums.

Can't blame them for buying one song cause 99% of them only have one song in their talentless body.
Music is the best...

I only watch MTV for America's Best Dance Crew. An acquaintance is competing and it's far better than So You Think You Can Dance

I agree with you on that, but YouTube has become the same thing. MTV is terrible, and 99.99% of the time i skkip the thing, but if i get an email that Nicole from PCD is gonna be on some award show i have to see her, regardless of hating the network and almost all the artists on it. youtube has lost its appeal for the most part just like myspace has, it was cool when it wasnt known but now its a joke too. Most of the artists i like dont make videos or if they do VH1 classic runs them (example, springsteen, mellencamp etc..) and the others i like dont make videos anymore because its a useless medium.

You've noticed this too? I watched an episode of the new season and thought it was a scripted sitcom (which it may ver well be but do they have to be so obvious?). It's a cute show but I think I'm over the novelty.

As for mindless garbage, it's everywhere and takes great skill to maneuver through without getting scarred aside from just turning the TV off.

I'm SO glad I don't have kids and am SO glad I was born before this crap actually has an impact on my development. I can't imagine thinking that The Hills and the Jonas Brother and Ashlee Simpson and Paris and the f*cking High School Musical is cool. See, it just gets me all kinds of pissed off. mad

Yeah MTV was cool for kids growing up between '81 and, say, '97, but it gets old after a while. lol BET was cool when it actually promoted the older black acts. Now it's just like MTV. rolleyes

Told you the motherfucker think he Bill Cosby and shit. I've yet to see a black family act like they the Huxtables. I'm sure outside the cameras, they're a very different group of people. Reality shows are scripted anyway. Come on, you're not gonna send a message of wisdom all the time while relaxing in the tub! Get the fuck out of here, Joseph. lol

Well thats another thing, you get bombarded on YouTube with fake-ass rips of music videos that fans make most of the time, they have major issues with loading and stopping and loading again, its like watching tv and the sound keeps going out every 10 seconds, plus YouTube laelty it seems is losing anyone im interested in just for the fact that they list stuff without consent, so its dwindling, becoming more of "american idol" like thing, where people go and put there auditions on it.

This is true. It's getting really bad as well. I still use it to check out videos but more and more I'm finding them available elsewhere. Kids are ruining the world. confused

Honestly, it's been years since I tuned into MTV. YEARS. I just don't bother with it, because it won't change so no sense in my crying about the good ole years. I've got youtube for that (for now anyway). It had also been years before I tuned into VH1 to watch Celebrity Rehab earlier this year. Don't think I'll be tuning in again anytime soon.

I'm getting so tired of f-list celebrities always popping up on VH-1. Don't they got better things to do than to poison viewers' lives on TV? Fuck with the primetime channels but leave cable alone. evillol
