Rick Springfield is about 13 years older than his wife and they have been married 20+ years, and he got married when he had tons of money and was in his "commercial success" stage where he was charting singles just as quick as Madonna and MJ at that time.

And then it depends on the female too, someone like Mayte to this day speaks "no ill" of Prince even though he more or less "grew tired" of her when their child died.
