For me, the period between 1981-1986 was the best in terms of dance/funk jams, especially during the summer. | |

I hated a lot of 1985, 1986, and the rest of the 1980s until house music came above ground in 1989 with folks like Black Box and then the whole "dance music" explosion perked things up for about two or three years. Those late 1980s were polluted with too much stuff like Shitney Houston, Freddie Jackson, Anita Baker, Mikki Howard, and Regina Belle. An actual jam was becoming scarce.
