unrequinted love im looking to make a playlist, but am having trouble coming accross songs which fit the title "Unrequinted love", Prince or otherwise.
They can also, or i guess, are more likly to be depressing. Can anyone make some suggestions? thanks,x

Maybe way out of your musical scope ( do NOT take that as a slight, it isn't meant as such. Some folks just don't do before a certain era) but The Andrews Sister's "I Can Dream, Can't I?" would fit your theme to a "t".

from your username i figure you might be german and therefore you might
also know Katja Maria Werker and thus her song "carried the cross". it's not strictly about unrequited love but it has come to have that meaning to me. it's very sincere and emotional in a clinical way lol but that's how i like my emotional distress, neatly filed with soft shimmerings of otherworldly terror. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

For my listening ears, nobody does it better than her. Walk on By Anyone Who Had a Heart Who Can I Turn To Are You There (With Another Girl) I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself Those are just a few off the top of my head that directly fit the bill, but there are tons to pick from her songs.
