I've listened to it once and it's not bad.The albums that followed are better,of course,but there's some cool jams on the debut."Jack and Jill" is the highlight.

She has a smooth R&B ditty in the album called "Ready 4 Love", it sounds like a typical Luther Vandross production, I like it.

yes it is. I copped mine years ago, and it has an extended and an instrumental. The episode of Soul Train with him singing other woman just aired about three weeks ago. good luck on getting that one.

Looks like we like the same things on the album. "Satisfaction" is my favorite song from Side 2 and my favorite song from the album, next to "The Dance Electric". "Neon Pussycat" and "Vacation" are pretty good but Side 1 is definately the best side.

As for "Lipstick Lover", I prefer the 45 version I have over the album version. The 45 is an edited version of the 12 Inch version. Oh, how I wish I had bought the 12 Inch back then but, by that time, I had already graduated from high school in 1985 and had to buy my records with my own money (my grandmother had bought them for me previously). I think I remember hearing a 12 Inch version of "Satisfaction" on the radio that same year also. Hell, I can't remember. I may be getting it mixed up with the 12 Inch version of Jesse Johnson's "Baby Let's Kiss" the very next year which was another one I neglected to get. Times had gotten hard for a whore that had already graduated but was unemployed at the time. So you can imagine how pissed I was getting with Prince's albums beginning in 1985 after saving my own money expecting some hard stuff like "1999", "Dirty Mind", or "Controversy" (the signature Prince sound), only to receive some artsy/fartsy "experimental" shit with horns and orchestras.

I got a heads up on about 200-300 brand new R&B/Soul albums. Once I get the list, let me know if u want something. I can buy the whole lot or pick and choose. I was told that it is a GREAT collection but I have not seen the list yet.

They used to play that 12 Inch version of "The Other Woman" all the time. I even looked for it in the record stores back when it was in style and couldn't find it. The radio used to play the instrumental sometimes too right before the news would come on. I haven't heard that 12 Inch since it was in style.

Yeah,"Satisfaction" was the third single from Andre's album.A 12" version was released.I think his record company made a huge mistake by not releasing the superb slow jam "Pretty Wild Girl".That's my second favorite song on the album (after "Dance Electric").It's an intoxicating slow jam that got some airplay on our local R&B station.Superb song!! Probably the most Prince-like thing he's ever done.The ladies would have gone crazy if that had been a single,with a cool video.
